Weird Orbits Suggest Solar System May Harbor Another Hidden Planet

Kathryn Volk and Renu Malhotra at the University of Arizona have noticed some strange movement out in the Kuiper belt
movement that they believe could suggest the existence of a tenth planet.
...
Objects in the Kuiper belt are far enough away from the other major bodies in our solar system that the gravitational influence of the large planets doesnt impact them (at least, not to a measurable degree); however, their movements can still be predicted, thanks to sky surveys and a host of advanced technologies.
The search for Planet Nine has lead scientists to believe that it is orbiting around 700 AU from the Sun. However, Volk and Malhotra believe that this tenth planet could be much closer, as the orbit of Kuiper belt bodies shifted just beyond 50 AU. They also contend that the planet would be roughly comparable to Mars, in terms of size.

Yet, scientists still haven’t decided if Uranus is pronounced Your-anu$ or Ur!ne-us. They have their best minds working on it right now.

It’s a really exciting field right now. And the really good news is that the astronomers have Google to help resolve important issues like the one you raised.

I think that may have been part of what lead Pluto to be deplanetized. In just my time on this forum there have been numerpus supposed “extra planets” found. At one point there was a tenth planet and two different 11th planets (or as we less educated would count, 12).
I guess someone decided we couldnt call every as yet undiscovered planetoid a planet in the future so they demoted Pluto.
Im old fashioned and I think Ill keep 9 for now.

Volk and Malhotra sound like a couple of sore losers that Pluto has been LOST as a planet!
Besides; if ya find another planet; your names will be enshrined forever in the annals of history!

I feel for you, Old Pluto;
but astronomers say you must go!
You mustn't feel sore;
'cause we're looking for more;
But grant money is running quite low.
