The end of the Supreme Court term looms, and with it the prospect the terrifying prospect of a retirement. Specifically, the retirement of Justice Anthony M. Kennedy, who will turn 81 next month and is the longest-serving current justice, named to the high court almost 30 years ago.
So if Kennedy is inclined to retire, it is hard to begrudge him that choice. But his departure would be terrible for the court and terrible for the country. It could not come at a worse time. Any court vacancy these days, under a president of either party, triggers a battle between liberal and conservative forces. Kennedys retirement would unleash nomination Armageddon, given the feral political environment and the pivotal role he plays on the closely divided court.

Anytime someone conservative has any concern, it's fear-mongering, and if the left gets a change they want, they say, "see, the sun came up and the sky didn't fall." Funny they don't care about using logical fallacies like that.

If you look at the mid-term election in 2018....it’s very doubtful that the Democrats will pick up any GOP senate seats...in fact, they might actually lose two or three more Democratic seats. I don’t see delay tactics working well for at least the present period.

Oh, I dunno, what’s so “terrible” about Trump naming the next four Supreme Court justices with Harry Reid to thank for no possibility of filibuster? I think it’s hilarious.

It could make the Bork fight look like a kindergarten squabble. If you folks don't stop advocating violence, inciting it and give us more folks acting on it, you're going to wish you were back in kindergarten. You need to shut your mouth Ruth. Now.

Hey Ruth, shut up. All you do is whine and wuss-out at the Wash. Post. Why not go over to MSNBC where you will be comfortable with their lunatics?
I nominate Madame Lafarge to take your place. At least she knew how to get a “head” in her career.

I bet Chuck Schumer is going to suggest that President Trump let Hillary Clinton pick the next Supreme Court justice because "it's only fair..."

Ruth is going out feet first. No way in hell would she willingly give up her seat when Donald Trump could name her successor. No way.

Kennedy joined other liberal judges to vote that CO2 is a pollutant under the Clean Air Act.
Think about it, CO2, the food of life on planet Earth, has been declared a pollutant, how anymore twisted can that be!!!
