For Chinese food ( we used to go to their place in Southbury, but they opened a place in Bethel a few years ago ) go to EMPIRE SZECHUAN.
Great Japanese food can be found at House of Yoshida; also in Bethel.
But there's NOTHING worth a damn in Newtown ( the old Hawelyville Inn wasn't great, but it was once decent...decades ago ), The Spinningwheel, in Ridgefield is long gone.
Supposedly, though a bit overpriced, the newish Barnwood Grill, next to Caraluzzi's and opposite My Place, is better than just okay.
I forgot about Capri. Bethel is just a drag to get to. I had some bad experiences with Empire. You’re dead on with Barnwood.
Mrs. Cato digs The Foundry in Sandy Hook, but I thought it was meh. And overpriced.
Other than that forget it.
There's also a more or less decent pizza place on Greenwood Ave., in Bethel...a bit down form the first big Carraluzzi's.

And forget about the Italian restaurants north of Newtown; they ALL stink on ice!
There were a few decent places, when we first moved here, not great, but pretty good; however, those have all closed and either NOT replaced at all, or replaced by one lousy restaurant after another.
Oh...and the old Opera House, on Gredenwood Ave, in Bethel, isn't any good anymore and the new restaurant, up the hill from there, never was any good AND very over priced to boot!

I just thought the John Goodman thing was the most hilarious, ridiculous, outlandish of many such claims about Sandy Hook.
You were talking about the other "actor" claim, david wheeler:
Which is also ridiculous, but let's face it, John Goodman was quite a bit more popular than David Wheeler.
I should probably presume that you know she is talking about the youtube video where, when asked “who do you think put the sign there”, she replied “I think homeland security”.
Of course, she was probably talking about Connecticut, not federal, and also she didn’t say she KNEW. And my guess is her testimony would clarify that, except the hoax youtube video cuts her off even before the period in her sentence, a sure sign of highly selective editing.
Maybe Chelsea should challenge Megyn to a mud wrestling match.
The video of her deposition stating that the Department of Homeland Security put up the check in here sign is available in it’s full length form.
Watch it and draw your own conclusions. It matters not to me what you believe.
“David Wheeler” got far more action than your imaginary John Goodman player.
After all, “David” played the part of swat team member (albeit he was caught on live TV carrying his “gun” upside down, and he played the part of “parent.”
Make of his roles what you will. It doesn’t matter to me what you believe at the end of the day.
The two people in the picture I posted are not the same person, although in the pictures they manage to both have pimples, which of course is shocking because it is so rare to find anybody with a pimple.
I thought the good-old-boy did look a bit like John Goodman, if he aged 10 years.
It dawns on me that some people think there is actually some actor (unnamed) who PLAYED the part of the father David Wheeler, and also (because apparently the conspiracy to end all conspiracies was short on cash for extras) played the part of a SWAT team member (because also apparently you couldn’t actually have a real SWAT team in this conspiracy for some reason).
I imagine David Wheeler’s wife would be saddened to learn that the guy she married was a long-term plant, waiting for the day we’d have to fake the death of what apparently was their fake child.
But seriously, I always love conspiracies that are so intricate that they’d be laughed off a Hollywood studio as unbelievable, but at the very same time are so amateur that they’d actually re-use the same actor for multiple parts in a way that would be trivially caught.
Uh. I STILL don’t have a URL. And I want an OFFICIAL URL, not some Youtube hack job. Thanks to everyone trying to clarify this. You’re fighting a losing battle.
