For GREAT pizza, go to or take out ( yes, they also deliver ) CAPRI PIZZA in Bethel.
For Chinese food ( we used to go to their place in Southbury, but they opened a place in Bethel a few years ago ) go to EMPIRE SZECHUAN.
Great Japanese food can be found at House of Yoshida; also in Bethel.
But there's NOTHING worth a damn in Newtown ( the old Hawelyville Inn wasn't great, but it was once decent...decades ago ), The Spinningwheel, in Ridgefield is long gone.
Supposedly, though a bit overpriced, the newish Barnwood Grill, next to Caraluzzi's and opposite My Place, is better than just okay.
I forgot about Capri. Bethel is just a drag to get to. I had some bad experiences with Empire. You’re dead on with Barnwood.
Mrs. Cato digs The Foundry in Sandy Hook, but I thought it was meh. And overpriced.
Other than that forget it.
