Memorial Day weekend would seem like the best time for a big summer blockbuster to hit the theaters, but in recent years audiences have been focusing more on their tans and grillmaster skills over the holiday than going to a movie theater.
Past Memorial Day holiday weekend openings that were instant fails at the box office include: "Tomorrowland" ($33 million opening weekend), "Alice Through the Looking Glass" ($26.8 million), and "X-Men: Apocalypse" ($65.7 million). Now you can add two new releases from this year to that list.

Most excellent news! I love watching Hollywood crash and burn. We should be getting close to my goal of no one wanting to invest and lose money on them. Hahaha ROFLMAO
I read an article some years ago where they are losing money even with overseas sales because of the amount they’re using to make the movies.
Young people go out to get out of the house and be entertained. Now, though, if you have a decent house and tv, there are better and longer stories to watch at home. Series are better than films usually now, and even films can be watched at home if you don’t care to be the first to watch it. Better food, better bathrooms.
The trailer for WW was painfully stupid.
Blinders falling off...HELLywood is evvvvvil and anti America!!! Not one red cent!!! Husband was given a movie theater gift card...it’s still sitting in a drawer!!
Good.
I like Gal Gadot and the fact that she is an Israeli Defense Force Veteran and the fact she drives the “Sharia Blue” Dems insane makes me smile

What drivel! Hollywood is not making movies people wish to see. Don't blame the customer for poor quality product!
Yeah I read how liberals were upset that an Israeli woman was playing the lead role..kind of makes me want to see the movie :-) Also they were upset she didnt have armpit hair..seriously liberals are NUTS but we already knew that
Alien Covenant. Nowhere near as good as Prometheus. If you didn’t like Prometheus, you’ll hate this sequel.
Not deserving of the mantel of “Alien”. BY FAR, the worst “Alien” movie.
you couldn’t pay me to watch that pap.
Precisely
Agreed. I’ve seen only 2 movies in the theaters in the last 2 years. Used to go at least once a month.
Looks like Samuel has gotten a bit darker and slightly angrier.
Same for Bay Watch...what a barker
I wonder how they called her Wonder Woman in an article from 3 years ago when the movie still isn’t out yet even today. How did they have a picture of her in the WW get up 3 years ago unless they filmed out that long ago?
[I suspect that will change next weekend.]
A possible DISASTER waiting to happen. HOLLYWOOD alienated non-metrosexuals with their “women only” WONDER WOMAN premier.
