Gov. Cuomo called on President Trump Sunday to provide emergency assistance to remedy the “intolerable” situation at Penn Station that will create “a summer of agony.”
Earlier this month, executives from Amtrak, which has operational control over “Pain Station,” said they would shut down tracks for extended periods over the next year to repair long-neglected infrastructure.

Amtrak....a public/private partnership that is an absolute disaster. Anything the government touches is ruined. Too bad, more and more people don't see that.
As for Cuomo, he walks around like he's the smartest person on earth. Why doesn't he enlist the help of all those Wall St folks, the majority of their workers go thru Penn Sta 5 days a week, to figure it out. Why should the tax dollars of someone that lives in Georgia or Montana go to fix that cesspool. And, it is a cesspool. Traveled thru there last year, HOLY SH*T!!!! was it nasty.

How would that change the fact that rail lines need to be shutdown for repair? Maybe the new owner could have the repair crews working multiple shifts to get it done in less time, but I can't imagine a good Democrat like Cuomo demanding that from union workers.

I suggest cars and airports which killed off the Railroad in the rest of the country.
I used to commute into NYC, years ago. It wasn’t too bad, even late night. Now, homeless everywhere. The stench, from the subway system below, the homeless, the urine, the booze, garbage, everything about the place, sucks.
So this begs questions as to who is responsible for ongoing maintenance there. Who runs the train station? Who owns it? Who allocates the budget for day to day operations , as well as repair and maintenance ??
I don’t quite understand. Cuomo should go to whoever is in charge and discuss all this, rather than do political grandstanding. Then this sets it up so that Trump will be blamed for the problem. Cuomo will say he asked Trump for money but was denied or some such pablum.
One thing you can always count on the liberals to do, is blame somebody for problems. If Cuomo can’t fix this he will make damn sure we all know who is to blame.
I should say that the liberals will find some Republican they can blame for problems.

I think President Trump will help to get the problems taken care of, and if so, hopefully Cuomo and the rest of the Trump-haters in NY might actually show SOME appreciation for him, for a change. We’ll see.
