There are probably tens of thousands of TV episodes from the different decades. Most of them are probably pretty lousy looking back, but of course a few were rather stellar.
The episode on Little House on the Prairie where Mary goes blind, nightmare at 20000 feet on the Twilight Zone, the episode with a huge battle on Game of Thrones, or the Pilot of The Wonder Years are examples of some great episodes.
In your opinion, what are the three greatest TV episodes of all time?
Babylon 5 - And the Rock Cried Out, No Hiding Place
Firefly - Our Mrs. Reynolds
Lost - The Constant
The Simpsons - Cape Feare
The Twilight Zone (1985) - A Message from Charity
Which goes to prove I am not senile-YET! I saw it almost 60 years ago!
Just don’t ask me what was on TV last night.
Carol Burnette’s parodies on commercials were pretty funny.
I agree. Good show.
The Alfred Hitchcock episode most memorable to me was “The Man from The South, with Steve McQueen.
Makes a bet with a guy his lighter will light on the first click 5 times in a row.
The bet is for a car.
The suspense is huge and a perfect ending.

Star Trek - City on the Edge of Forever
Finally, finally, Star Trek lived up to its promise. There is a surprisingly good Wikipedia piece covering the production of this show. Harlan Ellison lived up to his reputation, brilliant and difficult.
The X-Files - Jose Chungs From Outer Space
All the X-Files episodes written by Darin Morgan were great, but I think I preferred his "Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose." "Humbug" was fun, too.
The Twilight Zone - Its a Good Life
I had forgotten about that one. The Twilight Zone was usually fake-scary, but that show was genuinely scary.
Twin Peaks episode 3. Coop solves crime by throwing rocks at a glass bottle. Table with stacks of donuts nearby.
Any Firefly episode
M*A*S*H - “The Interview”. Done mainly in black and white. Clete Roberts was the interviewer. Best part of the epi was there was no laugh track. My personal favorite episode.
Next to Last episode of Billions.
The final episode of
Newhart
Either Last Exit to Springfield or Deep Space Homer are the funniest Simpsons episodes. Those should be embedded in a time capsule somewhere. The show probably peaked overall with the first 8 episodes of season 7, an incredible little string of very funny but also complex and deep episodes starting with the conclusion of Who Shot Mr. Burns and ending with the one where Homer meets his mother. It was all downhill from there, first slightly and then rapidly.
Where the idea for the Turkey episode on WKRP came from
Almost any of the major Sam and Diane “turning point” episodes of Cheers, where they either get together or break up. Their relationship was the heart and life of that show. It shined brightest when their relationship was on fire.
Pickles episode, has to be one of the best Andy Griffith’s as well.
The Dick Van Dyke “It May Look Like a Walnut” episode where he dreams everyone he knows is an alien.
I recently finished the first season of the british show Green Wing. The season finale makes my top five list.
All in the Family...”Gloria buys a Wig”...
