As technology advances in about another 10 years she might be able to buy a “babybot” and “husbandbot” and then as the years go by she can trade the “babybot” in for older appearing models. Well my father was a retired NYC cop and they at first didn’t want to arrest the guy, to “resolve it” but like me my dad was really ticked off and got them to arrest him on disorderly conduct. I wanted to kill that SOB like you cannot imagine. My parents were in their late 70s at the time and my mother would go into panic attacks if the garbage wasn’t taken out, so you can imagine what this did to her. We almost had to call an ambulance to calm her down. I actually went back to that restaurant almost every night looking for that guy for almost a year. If I found him without question I would have beaten him within an inch of his life, possibly even killed him, jail be damned. Try to imagine that - The utter disrespect some SOB you don’t even know shows towards your parent by knocking over their drink and dinner and then grabbing them, oh my God! Let me stop writing because just thinking about it is getting me all ticked off again.
I agree...the complete dysfunction of the political system is one of those societal problems.
The radical leftists of the sixties wanted to pursue a scorched earth policy when they got into power, and that is exactly what they have done.
As I’ve said, I don’t think the women in the article really know what they want.
But even when I was young and dating in the ‘70s, it was hard to find a young man who wanted to marry young and didn’t expect a girl to fall into bed with him very soon, with no commitment. They had avidly bought-into the ‘free love’, no-responsibility idea, and there were plenty of women who bought-into it with them to whom they could turn, instead of taking on responsibility.
Also, a lot of young adults now were brought up by extremely indulgent parents who spoiled them; they haven’t got a realistic awareness of life and responsibility, or the beauty and reward that settling down and dealing with real life entail. (And there’s a lot of truth in what utahagen stated in post 117.)
If you teach your kids to have real character and to recognize and value it in others, they will be immune to a lot of the negative aspects of culture, media, etc. - or at least learn their lessons sooner and less painfully.
I think that people are generally more selfish today than past generations, and neither sex has a monopoly on that. But I also know too many bright, idealistic young people to be depressed about the future. As a culture, we will learn from all of this and get over it.

Own a house & duplex for rental income in silicon valley.
Did the work to build a career that could support a wife and a couple kids.
Never found a woman worth investing EVERYTHING into.
Pets, hobbies & travel...Life is good.
