This is it. Body-positive marketing finally has gone too far.
Dove, the friendly soap company known for preaching self-love and diversity through advertisements featuring real women instead of models, recently unveiled a new line of limited edition body washes in a variety of body-shaped bottles.
That's right, precious little snowflakes, you can now have a body wash bottle that reflects the shape of your body.
According to Dove's website, the limited edition body washes aim to celebrate beauty diversity.
"From curvaceous to slender, tall to petite, and whatever your skin colour, shoe size or hair type, beauty comes in a million different shapes and sizes," the site reads. "Our six exclusive bottle designs represent this diversity: just like women, we wanted to show that our iconic bottle can come in all shapes and sizes, too."
But critics weren't buying the female empowerment shtick this time.
"@Dove Is this real? I don't care what the bottle looks like, I care if the product inside works," said one Twitter user.
"I don't want fat representation in soap bottle form. I'd prefer it in the form of fat people not being systematically treated poorly," said another.
I don't understand Dove for your body type? Do you...wear the bottle?

I found the bottle shape that correlates most closely with my body. Thanks @Dove! pic.twitter.com/ghVyGmF0zY

If I could walk that way...
Since they featured a tranny, in their last ad....is there a tranny bottle?
Absolutely! he shape of the package would definitely affect shipping costs.
And thanks for the tip RE: whom they support. Eyew.
LOL! :-)
I’m with you. I HATE “PC”.
You got a point there.
Ha ha Ha! I can see ‘em lined up at the Dollar store!
You got a point there, DP!
lol
:)
My wife saw them on TV.
Thank goodness she didn’t ask me which one I thought she was.
I’d be looking for a FReeper’s place to sleep tomorrow :)
Owned by Unilever, of which some of its brands are being boycotted by conservatives.
When he took over Chrysler, looking at shipping costs, the "flight deck" hood styling went, allowing them to cram more cars onto car carriers, especially on train cars.
It made sense, as my father had an Olds that had about a 6" extension post to get the fan closer to the radiator (pre electric fan era).
Yes indeed.
When I used to have “Top rated Seller” status on EBay, one of the things I excelled in was “Shipping”. Unfortunately, though, one of my main products were GUITARS!
Did you switch to selling zithers for shipping ease?
LOL!
Zithers are no-neck brats of guitars. hahaha
