Bill Nye the Science Guy, famous for hosting a childrens educational TV show, is not as kid-friendly as he initially may appear.
An abortion advocate, Nye recently hosted a new Netflix show that The Federalist describes as bordering on eugenics.
The episode Earths People Problem is part of the Netflix series Bill Nye Saves the World. In the half-hour show, Nye and several panelists discuss how they think large families and population growth are affecting the world, according to the report.
One of those panelists is an abortionist named Nerys Benfield who practices at the Montefiore Medical Center in New York City. Another is Dr. Rachel Snow of the United Nations Population Fund, which has been linked to coercive abortion practices in China.
Nye begins the show by describing how humans use natural resources. According to the report:
Following an intro that demonstrates how human consumption is like sponges soaking up water, Nye explains how women who have access to educational and professional opportunities tend to have fewer children. This is true
Nye says when women are in power, they have fewer children, and more resources can be devoted to those children. Its not rocket surgery. Its science! he coyly explains.
The underlying eugenic and abortion tones come out later in the show. Though the word abortion never is mentioned, panelists hint at it while talking about family planning and womens health care.

At one point, Nye even asks the panel if families should be penalized for having extra kids.
The report continues:
The fight against climate change, Nyes most passionate cause, is brought up by [Dr. Travis Rieder, ethicist at the Berman Institute at Johns Hopkins University], who notes that children in developed countries use 160 times more resources than children in the developing world. This is where the creepy totalitarianism of the environmental movement starts to show itself. Nye asks, bluntly, Should we have policies that penalize people for having extra kids in the developed world?
Rieder says we should at least consider a form of punishment for people who have these Extra Kids (TM). Nye impatiently responds that consider means do it. Snow, to her credit, jumps in and takes issue with the idea that we do anything to incentivize fewer children or more children. Benfield notes the history of compulsory sterilization in America, a practice that was in place as recently as the 1970s. The issue was not come at from a position of justice in the past, she adds. But this time will be different, I guess?
Some countries already do penalize large families, and their population policies are notoriously abusive. China mandates that families have only two children. Until last year, most families in China were allowed one child. Families who have more than one or two children report being coerced or even forced to abort their unborn children, fired from their jobs and penalized with huge fines.
Last October, the BBC interviewed a Chinese family who went into hiding after conceiving a third child.
The local government carries out pregnancy examinations every three months, the husband told the BBC. If we werent in hiding, they would have forced us to have an abortion.
Others have been even less fortunate. A U.S. Congressional report from 2011 detailed one horrifying case where a woman 9-months pregnant with twins was dragged to a local medical center, held down and forced to abort her unborn twins.
These coercive population policies have proven to be abusive, and yet they are being promoted again in popular western media.
Americans need much larger families to counter the islamic invaders breeding program. Just look at what is happening in Europe.
This why we need economic growth coupled with a huge lessening of the tax burden on families so that one parent can stay at home to raise the children while the other works and brings in enough to comfortably support the family. The way it used to be.
The US no longer has a high enough birth rate to maintain our population. We don’t have children, we have immigrants. Is Bill suggesting we build a wall? That’s our new method of “birth control.”
I sm sure “the science guy” is only talking about large white or Christian families. Like all libs large brown, black or Islamic families thar vote Democrat in droves warm his bleeding heart
Maybe Bill Nye the Lunatic Guy should move to china, where they have policies that are more in line with his way of thinking.
People have babies when they can see a future for themselves. Jobs, careers. Not living with the parents and grandparents in the same house. Not that that’s all bad. But people do respond to incentives. I suppose the worst part is the a-holes spew this stuff and try to meme it into existence. We have to take up defensive memeing to block it.
Yes, exactly.
And every time one of them commits an indiscretion we should make all the rest of them denounce said indiscretion, and have them each go on record denouncing the person who committed the indiscretion, in detail. That’s what they do to us, with willing cooperation from the media.
All the rest of us who are straight, and especially white, should NOT in any way have ANY children.
We are the cause of every problem known to personkind.
Bill Nye seems atad confused about sex. Check this out - My Sex Junk - Rachel Bloom - Bill Nye Saves The World - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wllc5gSc-N8
He's The Fascist Guy. The one who wants to punish you for wanting to have freedom and force you to do what he thinks best at the point of a gun if need be. In other words, a liberal.
Damn, I was the youngest daughter in a family of 14 children (same parents).
I got into it pretty heavily with some broad from Boulder once. She informed me it was disgusting for my parents to have that many children. I told her that my family was all quite successful, all owned their own homes. Parents, nor anyone else, had not ever taken a penny of welfare, food stamps, section 8 or any other government freebies. We all had good jobs, no divorces, and paid taxes to support the country. Not one person in my family has ever been in jail and probably our worst offense was from me with my lead foot and getting the occasional speeding ticket.
She did not speak another nasty word at me, but stomped off. I felt I won that one.
Bill Nye can kiss my arse - I will bend over so he has a bigger target!
“Another Fascist masquerading as a scientist.”
That pretty much says it all.
I'm not exactly sure what you mean by that, but radiation-induced deformities are not passed down through the genes. If a woman is pregnant during the exposure, then there is a strong possibility of fetal damage, but survivors of Hiroshima/Nagasaki, for example, didn't go on to have deformed children because of their exposure to radiation.
Maybe Nye should move to China.
I wonder if Nye really wants to have this argument. OK, Bill. What is the penalty? Do we cut off their Welfare? Food Stamps? Deny medical coverage for more than two kids? Deny entry to immigrants with large families? Let’s see him tap dance around these questions to maintain his good standing as a liberal.
How many is too many?
If you look at the point when the birth rate fell it was after we began massive importation both of legal and illegal aliens.
Crowding causes birth rates to fall.
Is Mr. Nye a homosexual? I ask because of his hostility to families, his extreme skinniness and the fact that he was married to a woman once but it was only for a matter of days.
Climate change and gun control. The leftist tools used to kill off those who do not believe humans are godly.
Wow.
Gotta love watching a celeb who's become comfortable enough with his fame so he allows us to see the monster that's been lurking beneath the veneer.
And, just think, maybe this is only the beginning.
