COLUMBIA, S.C. Tim Tebow looks like hes learning to hit. Could a promotion be next?
Tebow tripled on a headfirst slide and singled twice, scoring two runs as the Single-A Columbia Fireflies beat the Asheville Tourists 5-0 on Wednesday.
It was Tebows third multihit game since Friday, as the 29-year-old followed up on his best week in the minors with more consistency at the plate. In his past six games, Tebow is batting .450 (9-for-20).
There are some guys who do really good who get taken away from me halfway through the year, Fireflies manager Jose Leger said, according to The State. Then there are guys that get taken away really early. It is hard to predict when it happens. A lot depends on what is happening in the level above. Whenever they decide it, he will be ready. He is just working hard, and we are going day by day.

Tebow is a great guy. I really hope he can have success at the major league level.
He’s got the body of a slugger, not a QB.
He’s Improving in leaps and bounds, unlike when he was QBing.
I call em as I see em. This guy is gonna be in the real majors within a year!!
He had a winning record as QB, but I’d say after winning the SB with Peyton, Denver made a good move.
I admire him for admitting what his strengths and not so much strengths are while he’s young.
He’s gonna be in the record books one day for Baseball!
I think you need to take a few deep breaths...
Though I like Tim, the reality is, is that he is coming in to the game late. He might build on his abilities, but chances to make it just to AAA ball are going to be tough. He's already 29.
The Fireflies are Single A ball.
There is still A-advanced
AA
AAA
Majors
Maybe someday he'll play a major league game. But he'll never be a record setter.
That's just the reality.
That being said
GO TIMMY!!!

All the owners in his league will be sad to see him go, too. He’s as popular as ever.
Well, whatever his future record may be, he’s making a lot of money for his team’s owners... and a lot of money for other teams when his team is the visiting team.
When did he become 29? No wonder he looks so much older than the other players.
A AA AAA?
Never followed anything but majors.
Hmm.
What’s the record for number of different sports played? :)
Most comments online were that he was a bum at baseball. Love to see him beat them down.
29 years old in Class A baseball. He may not have enough years left to make the Bigs. I hope he gets his chance, but most players have made it by then. At each level the pitching gets tougher and even a good hitter has to learn new tricks to succeed.
You heard it here first. Tebow will be the first to hit one hundred home runs in a single season.
Why not?!?! :)
He is coming to Delmarva early may if he is not called up...
Would love it if he gets advanced to A Advanced Myrtle Beach Pelicans!!!
I almost bought Tebow’s shirt but
1: They didn’t have it in 3X and
2: I’ll wait until he is called to the bigs.
His shirt is #1 best seller
Go Tebow!
I’ll wait to see if he can hit a AAA slider.
I don't know.
A-Columbia Fireflies
A-advanced - St, Lucie Mets
AA - Binghampton Rumble Ponies
AAA - Las Vegas 51's
Just checked.
Pelicans don’t play the Mets
