In fact, a new survey of people in the United Kingdom finds not only do about 20 percent of people not know how to change a bulb the same number arent sure how to boil an egg, either.

They are related to my husband. :)
The only way he will eat a boiled egg is if it is deviled or in an egg salad.

I’m guessing that the way to boil an egg is to put it in boiling water. But how the heck do you make water boil?
To: Harmless Teddy Bear
I think there’s something wrong with eggs these days. I can’t get the shells to come off without leaving a shredded mess. That doesn’t matter if it’s going to be egg salad, but it ruins your deviled eggs.

You would think they’d have the decency to teach these things to their many mohammad and Achmed “immigrants”!

I would assume you could boil an egg in boiling oil. I wouldn’t eat it afterward, but it would be a boiled egg.

I don’t believe 20 % of the adult population in the UK can’t change a light bulb...

Leave ‘em out in the hot sun a couple days: the shells will slip right off.

How long do you keep your eggs in your refrigerator before you use them. Do you buy them and use them right away?
To: vladimir998
Or maybe 20% like messing around with annoying phone surveys: Sure I know how to rewire a plug, but a light bulb stumps me.
The study found four in 10 people aged 25 and under prefer learning do-it-yourself chores online. Thats more than twice the number in the age group who turn to an actual book for help.
Duh! I can get online free right now to see a video on how to do something while a book will give me text or just pictures. That's opposed to waiting for a few days for a book I paid for. I had to change a watch battery yesterday night and had no idea how to pop the retaining clip until I watched a video. There is no book which would have shown how to do that.

I can change a light bulb but the light has to WANT to change.
