Atwood took the description of the impregnation AND the title of her book directly from a book in the Old Testament of the Bible!

You even got it wrong about the Muslim stuff; though yes, many Muslims DO have insane rules for women and dress codes as well.

Yes, I read it. But the Old Testament is the story of the Jewish people. The NEW TESTAMENT is what Christianity is based on. So to decide that Christianity is the frightening religion based on an Old Testament story is nonsensical. There is nothing in the New Testament to link this treatment to Christianity.

The fact is, today, it is in Muslim countries that women are enslaved, not Christian countries, not the one Jewish state, Muslim countries. Why you are upset that anyone would point this out, I do not know.

Sarah pressed Abraham to impregnate Hagar, through her own lack of faith in God’s promise to give her a baby in her old age. Atwood used only the bare outlines of the Genesis story. But, then Margaret Atwood is a HYSTERIC of colossal ignorance and small talent.
