Yes, I read it. But the Old Testament is the story of the Jewish people. The NEW TESTAMENT is what Christianity is based on. So to decide that Christianity is the frightening religion based on an Old Testament story is nonsensical. There is nothing in the New Testament to link this treatment to Christianity.

The fact is, today, it is in Muslim countries that women are enslaved, not Christian countries, not the one Jewish state, Muslim countries. Why you are upset that anyone would point this out, I do not know.

I don't know what kind ( sect ) of Christianity you follow, IF you follow any; however, Christianity accepts the OT as part of their religion and JESUS WAS JEW, WHO NEVER ESCHEWED JUDAISM AND/OR THE OT !

"THE HANDMAID'S TALE" was published in 1985, which means that it was written during President Reagan's presidency.

Atwood, an American hating lefty FEMINAZI CANADIAN, wrote this book as a political polemic dystopian novel, which contains the idea that the USA "could" become this way, due to REPUBLICAN ideology and that Canada was the ONLY sane place to "escape" to.

Why are you so blind to simple statements of FACT and only want to post about Muslims/Muslim majority nations, which, though they all have crazy, inhibiting rules and dress codes for females, do NOT use them for borrowed wombs ?

WHY ARE YOU SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO UPSET BY MY POSTS ?

WHY ARE YOU INCAPABLE OF ACCEPTING ATWOOD'S OWN WORDS ABOUT HER BOOK AND WHY HARP ON SOMETHING THAT HAS ABSOLUTELY NO CONNECTION WITH THE TOPIC AND WHICH WE ALL KNOW ABOUT ?
