It would have been odd to have her in a future movie via computer graphics, when we all know she had died in real life.Why ? Peter Cushing is dead, yet he was a CGI in the latest Star Wars movie.

They did a great job with his CGI I thought. Much better than with Princess Laia.

Which had a creepy factor on a whole different level.
Even the Princess Leia CGI looked horrible.

And it looked weird.
Carrie Fisher was CGIed in that movie as well. She on screen for maybe ten seconds, spoke one word and yet it was obvious that it was not her.
CGI has advanced greatly but for doing real people it still has quite a ways to go.
