Sorry, I forgot the /sarc tag when I wrote that Jesus Christ was somehow equivalent to the man dragged out of the plane.

I hope that all FReepers have a peaceful, beautiful weekend, perhaps spent in prayer and contemplation, and a Happy Easter.

If you take out her snotty introductory paragraph, I think it’s pretty good satire.

Jesus would chuckle and ask who wrote this, the NYT or the WaPo?

Where can I find the belief in Him in action? I wish He would come again and drive the moneychangers out of the temples.

They booted a paid, seated customer, who was no threat to anybody, to put on employees who were supposed to be on “standby”. You and they might want to look up the meaning of that word. Then they lied and claimed the plane was overbooked, which they now admit it wasn’t. Then they lied about the victim, which he is, and publically smeared him. Now they admit they were wrong, should never have pulled paid seated customers and promise never to do it again. They may have had the legal right to do it, but that doesn’t make it right. To say it had anything to do with safety is absurd. It was about a corporation not giving a damn about their customers. Whatever you think of this article, this isn’t some made up story by SJWs. And the United CEO’s response was horrible. Now passengers are cancelling, and their stock is down. The board should fire him.

Jesus lives, yes, but not as a flesh-and-blood, mortal human being. :)

No, not as a flesh-and-blood, mortal human being ... rather, He's a flesh and bones immortal human being.

Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have. Luke 24:39

At this point in time, there is a glorified human being seated at the right hand of God. The body he has, I will one day have.

Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. 1 John 3:2

This is a lying and misleading article. Actually no charges stuck that they tried in vain to ply Him with. Pontus Pilot said that he found no Pontius Pilot said, when he washed his hands of the ordeal, that he was innocent of the blood of this just person. There were not any charges against Jesus, as He was and is completely innocent of all wrong. He was crucified as an innocent man, before God His Father, and also before the law of the land, which was Roman.

Dr. David Dao was charged in 2005 with 98 felony drug counts for illegally prescribing and trafficking painkillers. Prosecutors claimed Dao fraudulently filled prescriptions for hydrocodone, Oxycontin and Percocet.

Dr. Dao was also convicted on 6 felony counts of obtaining drugs by fraud and deceit and in 2005 was given 5 years probation.

Dao was also convicted for writing prescriptions and checks to a patient in exchange for sex.

In medical board documents ... Dao denied paying for sex, but indicated he accepted sexual favors from an associate in exchange for reducing a debt that associate owed him.

In February, 2005, Dr. Dao surrendered his license to practice medicine in Kentucky. In 2015 the medical board lifted the suspension and allowed him to practice medicine with some restrictions. Last year, the medical board imposed even more restrictions -- now he can only practice internal medicine in an outpatient facility one day a week.

Interestingly, and relevant to the United incident, one doctor assessing Dao's case said he had interpersonal problems, noting "... he would unilaterally choose to do his own thing."

He IS alive today and we know how He is thought of. Some people denigrate Him and say all manner of things falsely about Him, some people say He was merely a good man, and still others proclaim Him as God.

He claimed to be God. Either He was right or wrong. If wrong, He either knew He was wrong or He didn’t know He was wrong. If He didn’t know He was wrong, then He was crazy, really totally crazy and belonged in a looney bin. If He did know He was wrong, then He was a liar and a scoundrel for enticing many to their deaths.

If He was right and actually was, and is, God, then He deserves to be worshipped, loved, and obeyed.

Who do you say He is?

* The Temple of God in Jerusalem does not translate to a "community center".

*And Jesus would not have been looked at as possibly unemployed, he was being called "rabbi" even by his enemies. And he was a tradesman in carpentry prior to becoming a full time teacher.

Its a clever tact to report as if it was a modern story, but these kind of misunderstandings are a painful distraction.

“Jesus lives, yes, but not as a flesh-and-blood, mortal human being.”

While it is true that Jesus now has an incorruptible body, He still is fully human. There is one Man in Heaven. There are many human souls. Many spirits. Many angels. Other beings seem to be described in the Bible as having a Heavenly origin or home. But, at this time, there is one Man. And He is seated at God’s right hand. He has a body. He is not an apparition or ghost or spirit.

He died and rose again. Both His death and resurrection were fulfillments of Old Testament scriptures. And He was seen, after His resurrection, by hundreds of witnesses, including all of the apostles.

He ascended to Heaven, bodily. And He will return bodily to the earth and reign over it for 1000 years.

You are a complete slave to the media and have NO idea of what you’re talking about.

The planes have the ultimate authority over who flies on their planes. They had 4 employees who needed priority seating.

They didn’t lie about overbooking.
They didn’t lie about the victim (Did United publish that piece? I don’t think so - you might want to look up that source)

And yes - it IS A MADE UP STORY BY SJWs of which you are one.

Did Jesus have a flesh-and-blood body prior to being born of Mary?

He asked his disciples,

Was there flesh-and-blood "where He was before", prior to being born in form of man?

If not, but as you say, He still has flesh-and-blood, then does that flesh require oxygen, water, and nutritional sustenance?

The United Flight Was Not Overbooked, CEO Admits

https://www.forbes.com/sites/christinenegroni/2017/04/12/united-flight-not-overbooked-ceo-admits/#6a2a752f717b

“In Tuesday’s New York Times story on the fracas, United’s CEO acknowledged, this was not technically an overbooked flight. And the reason for that equivocation is also clear. The four airline employees who needed the seats, presented themselves to the gate agent after the flight was boarded. Further, they were not fare-paying passengers, therefore not “booked.””

I dare you to say that in one breath.

How about,

"Did Jesus have a flesh-and-blood body prior to being born of Mary?"

Of course not. (I presume you mean "before being conceived of Mary.")

"He asked his disciples, "What then if you should see the Son of Man ascend where He was before?..." Was there flesh-and-blood "where He was before", prior to being born in form of man?"

No, of course not. But 40 days after the Resurrection, He didn't "ascend" to Heaven as a "spirit" --- it was the bodily, risen Lord Who ascended; He was then (after the Resurrection), is now, and always will be, true God and true Man.

He still has the human nature He assumed when He was conceived in the Virgin's womb. He also has a divine nature. He is an embodied spirit-- or, if you prefer, an enspirited body.

"If...He still has flesh-and-blood, then does that flesh require oxygen, water, and nutritional sustenance?"

That part is truly mysterious. He was "tangible" after he Resurrection (when He chose to be!). He did eat after the Resurrection (the fish he had broiled on the seashore for his Apostles) but I don't think He "required" nutrition.

Paul says the resurrected body is a real, bodily body, the same as, yet significantly different from, the pre-resurrected body.

It will be so with all who are in Him. Your resurrected body will be the same body, the same "you"--- even if you died in a thermonuclear blast and the Lord had to gather molecules of you from the four winds (???), I don't know (!)--- and recognizable as "you," yet perfected and transformed and glorified so greatly that your new properties and operations cannot now be imagined.

Have a blessed Easter.

He is Risen!
