First of all it's their fault they overbooked.
Second one phone call and they could have confirmed he was really a doctor and had patients he needed to see the next day! Can understand that takes priority over everyone else. This man had lives to save.
Can remember sometime when Sen. Byrd was alive they tried to do this to him and he would not back down be cause he was a Senator. They were too afraid to go against him. Anyone else recall this? Well if Sen. Byrd does not have to get off then neither does this man or anyone else.
Next time an airline overbooks they better get another aircraft and quick!!
Poor guy. All he did was complain about the in-flight movie. ;)
Meanwhile, other stories indicate he had drugs to trade and gay sex acts to perform.
Let's not make of him a Saint just yet.
He is probably being inundated by lawers because they can hear CHA_CHING.
First of all it’s their fault they overbooked.
...
They are allowed to overbook. It keeps fares lower, and that’s the number one concern of passengers. The doctor purchased a service that allowed the provider to remove him from the flight. He’s the one who didn’t live up to the agreement.

I resent the fact that this man’s wife and children are being dragged into this too. Their privacy is now gone.
There is no justification for publishing that information in the daily mail, or HERE.
Someone compared his screams to James Brown’s singing, lol. Yeah, he apparently has had many arrests for selling prescription drugs, gambling debts, etc. Also a major drama queen aside from actually being a queen.
I don’t care what the airline did.
Flight Travel is not A RIGHT. The airline was well within their rights to do exactly what they did.
When weather patterns shift flights, they must get pilots to different cities or HUNDREDS of passengers will be stranded. An so then their seating takes precedence.
The airline could have explained better why it was a priority to get pilots to another location, but when the nice officer asks you to get off the plane you do not scream and fight with him.
Internal medicine? So... he had no emergency surgery scheduled? This guy is a pediatrician for adults. Is this guy someone who hands out vitamins? He could not have explained calmly he needed to see patients?
He got his ass kicked for being a jerk.
They DID let him back on the plane, so he must have been able to make the argument in his favor. He could have done so without the screaming (like a girl) and fighting with an officer.
He got back on the plane afterwards.
Good points, but what I don't understand, if they had to kick people off one flight to Kentucky, to make room for flight staff for a flight out of Kentucky the next day, why didn't they just cancel or delay the upcoming flight instead of dragging people off a flight that was sitting on the runway ready to leave? I'm not a regular user of airlines. The last time I flew was in 2007. It makes me glad that I don't have to depend on any of them on a regular basis.
You mentioned Senator Byrd. I remember Rush talking about ex-Speaker of the House Tom Foley not long after he died. I did a search and found this at Rush's site:
"He [Tom Foley] became famous after he left office for taking airline food off the plane. He would hoard airline meals and ask other passengers for theirs and would get off the plane with all that. I kid you not. I think thats
Once you get used to taking other peoples stuff."
“I’m mad as hell and I’m not going to take it anymore!”
Let’s all get it out of our systems!
It's a hard lesson to learn the first time, but you shouldn't pay for a ride in a rickshaw and then complain that it ain't a Lexus.
this Dr booked with an airline that he knows will pull people off of flights when they are overbooked/overweight. He took the cheapest and then is mad when the downside of cheap happens to him
“Don’t you know who I am?”
Then he starts fighting with police, rather than peacefully leaving. Did he really think that if he held onto his seat tight enough that they would decide to let him stay ?
He’s like stupid blacks at a traffic stop who seem to believe that if they can’t be dragged out of the car, the police will just give up and let them drive away.
Too dumb to be a Dr, I don’t want him near me.
Huh....a British newspaper.....wonder why they would care about this....it’s almost like Britain has airlines that compete with United.
Blah blah blah...All that and not a peep about what happened. Typical propaganda reporting. Paragraph after paragraph of crap but not a single detail of the facts.
The reports yesterday said the guy was off the plane and then ran to get back on.
Put yourself as a fellow passenger on this plane. The guy leaves and then comes running back on with airline employees screaming at him.
What would the average person’s thoughts be at that time? In the US. After 9/11.
He’s probably lucky seven guys didn’t get up and jump on him.
Interesting...CNN has him as a Chinese.

An Asian family and every one is a doctor. I wonder why they didnt scream for welfare and other subsistence but instead just got it done?
When the Government books a flight it is a guaranteed/refundable seat. And yes they pay extra for it.
