> The single movie quote I seem to use constantly, in working in the military, is Cool Hand Luke. What we have here is a failure to communicate. <
That great - and very useful - quote came in at #11. But it should have been ranked even higher.
Duke. It’s the Duke. “Duke of Death.”
Just the other day I was reading where the “You Talkin’ to Me?” and “Hey, I’m walking here” were both ad-libbed.
And I saw an old interview with Bill Murray about Caddy Shack. He was supposed to have one scene with a line in it. After that they said “Hey - why don’t you hang around.” The rest of his lines were all ad-libbed. (Hard to believe, but that’s what he said.)
I just got done watching Bill Murray in “Saint Vincent”. I’m guessing that the last scene before the screen rolls is all ad-libbed. It is just wonderful.
Maybe in the next 100 , Marcel Marceau: Non! spoken in “Silent Movie”, funny because.
I’ve never been alone with a man before, even with my dress on. With my dress off, it’s MOST unusual.
Missing “Yipee Ki yay!” From Die Hard.
Freedom is absolute - Andy Garcia
For Greater Glory ... Story of fight for freedom, religious freedom, gun ownership (and why) in Mexico. The movie defines which are the freedom loving Mexicans.
From Waterboy?
“Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony!”
Here’s looking at you you kid.
Play it again sam. (Or just Play it sam)
This is the start of a beautiful friendship
I remember every detail. The germans wore grey, you wore blue.
I’m Shocked, Shocked to find that gambling is going on hear.
And then their is this that is so quotable I can’t really pick out just one part....
... If that plane leaves the ground and you’re not with him, you’ll regret it. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but soon and for the rest of your life.
...We’ll always have Paris.
...But I’ve got a job to do too. Where I’m going, you can’t follow. What I’ve got to do, you can’t be any part of. Ilsa, I’m no good at being noble, but it doesn’t take much to see that the problems of three little people don’t amount to a hill of beans in this crazy world. Someday you’ll understand that. Now, now. Here’s looking at you, kid.
yup
And my favorite quote from that movie is not even included...
Captain Renault: What in heaven's name brought you to Casablanca?
Rick: My health. I came to Casablanca for the waters.
Captain Renault: The waters? What waters? We're in the desert.
Rick: I was misinformed.
Who’s that then?
I don’t know.
Must be a king.
Why?
He hasn’t got shit all over him.
How will you die, Joan Wilder? Slow, like... a snail? Or fast, like a shooting star?
> I’m shocked, shocked to find that gambling is going on in here! <
That was a great line, in one of the greatest film scenes of all time. And it didn’t even make the list!
“We all got it coming’ kid...l
Look at those snappers.
“I hate this hacker sh*t!”
“He chose...poorly.”
“Anyone...anyone...”
I know a little German; he’s sitting over there.
