The other days I got the munchies for peanut butter so I put some on bread and enjoyed it. I also like peanut butter in ice cream as well as cookies. Also I like peanut butter shakes. Okay, by now you guessed it...I like peanut butter. And I'm sure most of you do too.
So my big question is why does most of the rest of the world HATE peanut butter while it is very popular with North Americans (Americans and Canadians)? I read that peanut butter is so hated by most of the rest of the world that once some aid organization sent crackers and peanut butter to some starving nation and the folks rejected it.
There has to be a reason why North Americans love peanut butter while most of the rest of the world hates the stuff.
Peanut butter with jelly. Vegemite with egg and/or cheese (don’t forget the butter).
Peanut butter is best crunchy for texture and Vegemite is not meant to be eaten by the spoon. Most surprising is the fact tat Vegemite is the world’s most hated food despite how good it is (when done right). A small jar goes a long way and over 2/3 of Aussie households have it.
PBJ Neaseating!?!
How Can That Be?
Highly nutritional
Absolutely Delicious
And All American snack...
You should check Your Birth Certificate.
Or a Ritz Cracker or, at this time of year, Matzo! Let’s face it, it goes great on everything.
I don’t think we beat up any one here...
You do see some meanew flare ups though.
As for Skippy or Jif...
Jif seems a little sweeter.
I go both ways!
Well, he was half American and alcoholics (in the best sense) often love sweets.
I like the pure stuff - it's semiliquid at room temperature - stirred into my chocolate pudding.
I’ve been thinking of trying organic-health food stuff recently - the kind I hated as a kid that you had to mix up with a spoon. I wanted to see if my adult palate liked it.
I layer it on sourdough bread and add a bit of honey or buy the honey style. Then a nice glass of red wine to go along with.
I hate Vegamite.
Funny thing, my daughter the other day, asked me why I called saltines “soda crackers”.
She says I’m the only one she knows calls it that. I just pulled up wiki and showed her. Funny how generations lose words and culture so fast.
LOL! I call them hardtack!
Or Uneeda biscuits.
I’m a drive thru junkie and I’ve cut out
Taco Bell...
Arbies horsey sauce.
Still good with Wendy’s chili.
Life’s decisions.
Interesting! That is a complex set of chalky, deep, earthy American flavors and the honey sets it off. I’m almost thinking a slice of really nice cheddar on the side!
For breakfast, make whole wheat toast, slather it with
natural organic peanut butter and a Tablespoon of local
honey. Enjoy with a cup of coffee.
I grew up on a very Italian diet. I can’t think of one recipe from my mom or dad’s family that had peanut butter in it. As I got older, I discovered a love for peanut butter and now use it in a lot of what I bake and snack on. My kids favorite recipes are peanut butter dark chocolate pecan cookies and brownies made with dollops of peanut butter dough cooked in.
Carver didn’t invent Peanut Butter.
