"Sib Hashian -- the drummer for the rock group Boston -- died after collapsing onstage Wednesday night ... TMZ has learned. Sib's son, Adam, tells us the drummer was on the Legends of Rock Cruise and was midset when he suddenly collapsed. A witness says CPR was performed and a defibrillator was used but to no avail. The L.O.R. Cruise began on March 18 in Florida and had stops in several places including Puerto Rico and the Bahamas. We're told the cruise will continue and other musicians are performing tributes to Sib on the boat Thursday. The drummer -- who donned an EPIC afro in the early days of his stellar career -- was famously part of Boston's self-titled album, which featured the mega-hit "More Than a Feeling." Sib's daughter, Lauren, has a daughter with Dwayne Johnson. He was 67. #RIP"

Easily one of the best albums of all time. Too bad they never achieved that level again.

No doubt. This was one of the most talented bands out there. Also they had a great producer.
That album was sublime. They had no whee to go but down after that. Impossible to follow up something that perfect. I seen Boston play live one night on Cape Cod by accident. We were driving around & seen this crowd near the beach & when we got out....there was Boston doing a free, late night show. Great fun.They played for hours.
I thought pretty much Tom Scholz did all of the instruments and recorded it in his home studio, and basically had Brad do the vocals, and the other guys were just there to play live.

You are correct. “Boston” is Scoltz with the exception of the former lead singer.
The others were just window dressing for concerts and marketing.
Rock drummers have to be in top physical condition.
Lars Ulrich of Metallica says a concert is similar to a marathon for the drummer.
You don’t step away from the kit for 3-5 years then think you can do a 2hr concert after a couple of 1hr rehearsals. That could very well result in a heart attack for a 67yr old man.

I think that explains why they couldn’t match their first album. Sholz spent years working on it.
Back in the 80’s they were staying in the Santa Barbara Inn while I was there.

I saw Boston live two years ago in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and remarked then how very demanding the drummer’s job was for that show.
Yea if they could have managed to deal with things collectively better who knows what they might have done.
An absolute break out smash.. a solid follow up and a 10 year drought with lawsuits and all the fanfare for a third notable if not nearly the same level album...
Then Delp left and that was it.
RTZ wasn’t bad but far more poppy than the driving rifts that put Boston on the map.
Damn, that’s too young. I love Boston (the group, NOT the city), and some of their songs always end up getting played when I have anything to say about it.
67 seem to be a hard limit for a lot of rockers...except Keith Richards. I think that he stole all of their post-67 years somehow.
