Monopoly is making changes: The boot has been booted, the wheelbarrow has been wheeled out, and the thimble got the thumbs down in the latest version of the board game.
In their place this fall will be a Tyrannosaurus rex, a penguin and a rubber ducky.

The thimble was my favorite. A pox upon you, Monopoly.
That's bad news...we spent hours playing that game growing up.
I want an Owl, called hooter!
A Monopoly red hotel is pretty painful! :-)
Are they changing Boardwalk to Trump Tower or the White House?
Park Place should be Mar-a-Lago.
>>>Baltic or Mediteranean<<<
Rename them MLK and Cesar Chavez.
I never thought of it that way.
Because they’re all symbols of work, maybe?
I wonder if you’d be asking for a lawsuit by making and selling alternative Monopoly pieces? I think a Trump would be hilarious and appropriate, along with reproductions of the old pieces that they’re discontinuing and anything else that would sell.
My wife was reclining in a lazy boy right next to the stool next to the kitchen counter. Not to disturb her I just stepped over the stool. I hadn’t seen the Hot Wheels fire engine my son had left on the floor on the other side of the stool. I realized what was happening but couldn’t stop my weight from shifting. All my weight was on one bare foot on top of a square fire engine.
Did someone decide that these game pieces were racist? Everything else is these days, apparently.
>They could make trailers for houses, for Tennessee, Kentucky and Indiana.
with a yahoomobile on cinderblocks out front.
So they replaced pieces that were relevant to the theme of the game with totally random animals? OK.
I got to check with my parents, but I used to want to be the steam locomotive. Is it replaced? A Penguin, really?
You mean I have to trade in my boot for a rubber ducky? Outrageous! The boot always wins.
Lego on bare feet is equally as bad.
Let me guess. One person was “triggered” by a racist wheelbarrow, sexist thimble, and ableist workboot.
Interesting my strategy was either to take over Australia or South America as a base. You get the continent bonus and have to defend fewer attack routes - and by merely possessing one other territory prevent someone else from gaining a continental bonus (typically mexico or Indonesia).
As to Monopoly I recently saw an article or special about how very rarely are the actual rules followed. If they were the games would actually be much faster. For example: 1) there is an actual limit on houses/hotels if there are no more pieces no one else can buy them. and 2) if someone lands on a place and doesn’t buy the bank is supposed to auction it immediately to the entire player population.
What color would the diaper pin be for snowflakes who are unsure of their gender? :-)
