Monopoly is making changes: The boot has been booted, the wheelbarrow has been wheeled out, and the thimble got the thumbs down in the latest version of the board game.
In their place this fall will be a Tyrannosaurus rex, a penguin and a rubber ducky.

The whole game is retro and that’s the appeal, trying to dumb it down to a child’s game is a mistake. A ducky, lol? Please.
Oooooh, I want the little Trump figure,
it’s a winner!
Parker Bros. should make a Snowflake edition for those that need counseling after they lose or are intimidated by some player who bought up hotels on Boardwalk and Park Place.
Do you get mugged for $100 when you land on it?
The Bank never goes broke. If the Bank runs out of money, the Banker may issue as much more as may be needed by writing on any ordinary paper.
Actually I’m guessing that some snowflake decided that the boot was too masculine, the thimble went back to the 19th century oppression of women, and what was the other one?
Mark your own Risk cards, play by real (aka old) rules.
Diaper pin blue one end pink on the other - then just declare which one you are on each roll
I long ago lost track of the variations. There’s a Star Wars version, a “Purdue” version... And those are just extra ones I ended up with from my family & decided to keep for remembrance’ sake.
Oh yah. The wheelbarrow. But of course each of them in some way represents hard work as opposed to living on government largesse.
On the contrary, if they were smart they’d do a Trump Edition. Probably wouldn’t even need permission although it would be nice if they’d donate some portion of the profits to veterans orgs.
NYC streets and buildings - Trump Tower = Boardwalk, naturally. Golf courses instead of utilities, airports instead of railroads.
Gold-plated play pieces of course. There’d have to be the limo, the baseball cap, the jet...and of course the stiletto heel...
Just more of the same old same old.. a few years ago they decided to add a piece and made a big marketing deal out of it.. now they think if they just change the pieces ever few years they will sell more...
I played a lot of Risk in the past. One weird result I observed was whoever won Europe disproportionally won the game. North American normally was not vital.
I wondered whether it was because it was in the center of the board but came to the conclusion it was better located to attack the other continents and getting 5 extra armies made it more important than Africa.
Not sure if others have drawn the same conclusion.
for evolution (the T-Rex),Don't think of it as "T-Rex", think of it as "public domain Godzilla".
Boot, wheelbarrow and thimble all relate to ACTUAL WORK.
Millenials just can’t relate to them.
No matter where in the country, MLK Blvd always becomes the arm pit of every city.
So, might as well start off at Baltic or Mediteranean, the cheapest properties. From there you'd need special buildings to be placed.
A crack house.
And a No Tell motel.
Anybody who owns MLK instantly changes their token for a Chevy Impala with huge hoops.
They could make trailers for houses, for Tennessee, Kentucky and Indiana.
Double wides for motels.
Few things are more painful than stepping on a Risk board piece in your bare feet.
Boycott Hasbro! /s
Well shoot..the thimble is the only piece I can get a good grip on.
I guess the cannon is gone too?
