I read years ago that low testosterone was the reason old men were/are grumpy.

Now you know where the old saying “it’s hell to get old” came from.

Yo, Testosterone!

You got a problem, with that, Buddy !?!?!

(Just kidding)

It does not make me grumpy. I am naturally grumpy.

And it apparently, makes your hair fall out. Until it starts growing in places it’s never grown before. And who the hell came up with that brilliant idea?

I mean - seriously! I got some hair growing out of the rim (is that the right word) of my ears, and it grows like a frick’n weed! WTH!?

Who Ordered This?

Why hyenas? Why choose a species where the males are built like Barack Obama, and the females resemble Michelle? If there is one species where you *don’t* want to emulate the males of, it would be hyena (unless you are aiming for “metrosexual”).

I take testosterone supplement in the form of a cream you rub on...before that, in pill form.
Used to use patches, injections are the worst.

If you forget and miss a few days you can get a bit tired.

As the article noted, obesity and low T are a vicious circle, but it also works in reverse. Increasing dietary and sleep habits can affect testosterone levels and the increasing lean body mass contributes to more efficient testosterone production.
A few years ago I did a lot of reading on the subject and made a few changes that have had an overwhelmingly positive effect.
- Peak testosterone production occurs in deep sleep. Males approaching or over 40 should target a full 8 hours of sleep each night. It’s hard and takes a lot of discipline, but it has worked very well for me. I generally work 9-10 hour days and like my reading decompression time, but have given up some of that to enforce a rigorous sleep schedule with few exceptions.
- While the FDA seems adverse to homeopathy a number of European agencies have researched saw palmetto. One of the benefits they’ve found is that there are chemicals in saw palm that will bind with and inhibit some female hormones in the body which would otherwise bind with and neutralize testosterone.

There are a few other things I do but those alone have made a big difference...

Old men are grumpy because they don’t get laid often.

Trump is not a grumpy old man because he shares a bedroom with Melenia.

I read that chopping wood produces more testosterone in the body than playing sports or lifting weights, so if you want good wood you gotta chop some wood. One of life’s little ironies I guess.

9. One thing that’s not declining: demand for testosterone. In 2010, 1.3 million patients in the U.S. received a prescription for the hormone. That number jumped to 2.3 million in 2013.

______________

because testosterone shots are provided By Planned Parenthhood and paid for by Medicaid for Women who want to be men which is now VERY TRENDY.

In my case it’s supporting techno-illiterates that refuse to learn and printers that make me grumpy. I hate, hate, hate printers!

ok, the obvious question...if man was created before woman, how is estrogen the ‘mother’ hormone?

No one seems to have connected T with cancer. That would be me. I've always had High T and got bald, was prone to fight, and was muscular, and seem to do better than most with the women. Then I got prostate cancer. Now I spend the rest of my life trying to keep a "normal" T level.

If I wasn't a cancer survivor, I would be reading this and probably be getting shots from my MD thinking everything is good. IT"S NOT!!! Free info on the interweb is just that,.....free.
