A Brooklyn, New York, teenager lost his arm in a Craigslist robbery gone wrong on Friday afternoon, authorities said.
Police say the 17-year-old boy connected with a man on Craigslist who was selling a pair of Air Jordan sneakers. They met about 1 p.m. in the Canarsie neighborhood, where the teen got into the seller's SUV and pulled out a gun, police said. The teen stole the sneakers and then walked away.
He walked across the street with a bag apparently holding the sneakers, and the theft victim made a U-turn, stepped on the gas and ran over the teenager, pinning him against a metal fence and severing his arm, police told WPIX.

NYS is a duty to retreat state. Driver is quite probably screwed.
Yep, watched the video and I too question the running over of the kid........

NIIIICE!!!
How long has Michael Jordan been retired?
You would think Air James or some other brand would be the rage now. I don’t follow NBA though.
But if Ii may paraphrase Goetz: "One guy didn't look like he was hurt too bad so I gave him another."
Floor mat did it!
I thought Air Jordan sneakers would cost an arm and a leg, but the thief got them for half price. It’s a shame (almost) that he won’t be able to keep them.
I see. Makes sense, I guess.
Although things can get pretty chaotic in a situation where someone behind the wheel is threatened with a gun.
If I recall correctly, the attackers of Berhard Goetz (sp?) successfully sued him into financial ruin, over their injuries sustained due to their own bad sad life choices.

I believe that they’re limited in NY to 10% of your earnings..so Bernie has essentially been locked into living in NY forever to avoid the big hit to whatever he has earned.
A thief stops being a threat when he’s too far away for his bullets to kill.
This thief was still in close proximity.
