One of the most pressing topics that the NFL league office will discuss this offseason is how to either increase, or at least stop the slide in ratings seen over the course of the 2016-2017 season. This may be a good start.
Tennessee Titans offensive tackle Taylor Lewan thinks the NFL should allow brief unmediated fighting similar to what the NHL allows.
~SNIP~
The only foreseeable issues would be punching a player with a helmet and facemark with your bare knuckles is not typically a good idea. Also, the NHL allows fighting generally until one player goes down to the ice, which with no ice, would pose an issues on when to call it.
Then again, think about all the fans who look forward to fights in a hockey game. Now add 6 inches and 100 pounds to each guy. Talk about exciting.
If two players get in a fight, then anyone else that gets involved is ejected and suspended for the next game with no appeal. Anyone that leaves the bench gets tossed and serves a two game suspension with no appeal, and the coaching staff gets double that. Add in some realistic fines like a % of their salary which doubles for third man in and triples for benches, and then let them fight.
LOL! Excellent!
There seems to be an endless stream of idiotic ideas lately...
Multi millionaires duking it out on the field screwing up their careers by getting injured makes real sense.../ S
These freaks are nothing more than modern day gladiator wannabes.
Might as well arm them and let em’ fight on the field.

HA, “Rollerball”, 1975!
Long ago I read a book about football where each team was allowed to have a sniper with one bullet to use during the game. That might make the game more interesting. (sarc)
You’ve got brawn, Thug, but you sure are stupid.
A modest proposal for sure, but snipers beware: Roger Goodell may sentence you to a two game suspension!

Hockey fights are entertainment for primal mouth breathers.
Many of the gladiators were slaves. Watching the NFL, sometimes it seems things have not changed with in two millennia.
hmmmmm.......I like where this is going. "Detroit Lions" and "Chicago Bears".... we can release real lions and real bears onto the field. The animals can wear shock collars and the endzones can have invisible fences around it.
We can liven it up and let packs of feral dogs from Chicago and Detroit loose if lions and bears are in short supply.
I'd stop boycotting the NFL if I could see a bunch of feral dogs with a fighting chance against Michael Vick.
If you want less fruity celebration dancing and chest slapping displays after routine plays let them fight. One of my big problems with the NFL is that the nature of the modern rules combined with replay from a million camera angles and only playing 16 games takes any self policing away from players. So the cool players can’t stop the jerks from being showboating jerks.
There’s a reason why no one moonwalks down to first after drawing a walk or does a hulk pose with chest slapping after catching a infield pop up.
Freegards
Cut the crap and go straight to gladiator combat.
Besides the fighting I eventually realized that I was watching other people work and I cared more about the outcome of the games than the players did, which was stupid. I still think it's a great game, but only once the teams reach the Stanley Cup semis.

I’ve always thought soccer matches would be more lively if players were allowed to carry hickory tire knockers.
The more things change, the more they stay the same.
They might start making money if we played by your rules.
LOL!
