Pastor Robert Jeffress appeared on Daystar TV’s “Marcus And Joni” program earlier this week to discuss the message he preached to Donald Trump at a private worship service shortly before Trump’s inauguration last week.
Jeffress told host Marcus Lamb that he was overcome by emotion while delivering his sermon “because I realized what God had done” to save this nation by electing Trump.
“To me, it was so obvious that God had intervened in that situation,” Jeffress said. “I believe He intervened for Christians in this country. I really do. I think we got a reprieve, we got a little bit longer in this country to share the Gospel … The window will close again here in America; we had better take advantage of every other opportunity we have to share the Gospel while we still have that opportunity.”
Lamb agreed, getting choked up about how “God miraculously intervened” in the election and “gave America a second chance,” saying that if Hillary Clinton had been allowed to appoint more liberal justices to the Supreme Court, “we may not have ever gotten our country back.”

Seriously? Abortion. Sexual immorality. Electing Godless Democrats. Lip service to God while church attendence drops. When the pendulum swings the other way in the future, there willl be a severe persecution against Christians who stand faithful.
You are answering a different question. I fully understand why God punished America. I do not understand why God suddenly changed His mind (if He did).
I believe it’s not that He changed His mind, but like a father He doesn’t punish forever. He punishes to correct. There were many individuals and groups standing in the gap pleading for mercy with 24/7/365 prayer and fasting for this nation. He was moved at the sound of our cry for help. His loving kindness endures forever.
My view is that God gave up America to depravity, as evidenced by gay marriage, etc. Trump was put in place, not to ‘save’ the US, but to support Israel and give Israel the backbone to trounce the Palestinians. This will inflame the rest of the world, of course, and lead to an end times scenario.
The US will be ripped apart by liberals before they allow Trump to reverse the depravity. He’ll have to declare Marshall Law due to the riots.
