Katie Rich, a Saturday Night Live writer who mocked Barron Trump, the youngest child of President Donald Trump, in a tweet during Fridays inaugural festivities, has been suspended from the late-night comedy show.
Rich was suspended immediately after the tweet, and will be suspended indefinitely, according to a source familiar with the matter but not authorized to comment publicly.
In the original message, Rich predicted that 10-year-old Barron would become the countrys first homeschool shooter. The message was soon deleted by Rich, who also temporarily deactivated her personal Twitter account, but not before it drew widespread condemnation online.
On Monday, Rich apologized for the initial tweet, calling it insensitive. I deeply regret my actions & offensive words. It was inexcusable & I'm so sorry, said Rich,

I searched for an actual quote of what she tweeted. I read somewhere that there was a whole string of things including home school shooter. Most news sources only posted her apology, but not what she wrote.
Exactly, brief (days maybe weeks) cool off period and she’ll be back. Make one crack about the Obos daughter and you will be burned at the stake.
She will be back. NBC will wait the story to blow over and bring her back.
Suspended? So they’re going to wait until the noise dies down and then quietly reinstate her?
I’d be surprised if many Trump supporters watch SNL anyway. I’m actually kind of surprised they took any action at all.
A ten year old kid playing a little with the younger child. Libs bitch at a 10 year old.
That's liberalspeak for, "until all the fuss dies down".
She should be fired. That was an inexcusable thing to say about any child.
She got suspended for making a school shooter joke. Not mocking Trump Jnr.
Political Correctness (the left’s catechism) values style over substance. Since they don’t actually feel remorse but they do recognize disapproval they have to do something. The trick is skirting the line of insincerity just as closely as possible.
Actually having remorse is out of the question.
“Are the liberals rejecting insanity, wth is going on.”
No, they are fighting for survival.
The liberal city in which I live has many SUV’s showing evidence of recently-removed bumper and window stickers. Win or lose, they usually NEVER do this.
The liberal enclave I live in has many bumper and window stickers. I haven’t seen any evidence of removal. But I will look more closely. I saw more Trump signs, stickers, and support in my town than I have for any GOP candidate since I first voted.
Very true and very well said.
Barron looked like he wasn’t able to grasp everything that was happening, and that it all was going pretty quickly for him. It seemed like alot for a 10 year old to grip.
However, during the early part of the parade-—(which i didn’t get to see all of because it ran late & Dr Phil & People’s court meant more to my local channels)-—there was a group called The Tractor Brigade”.
Having been raised on a dairy farm, I still like tractors. They are versatile and powerful and necessary.
When the tractors came down the parade route——Barron got all excited. I am pretty sure he had never seen a tractor that close in his entire life. He really looked like a kid who had just arrived at his first County Fair. It made his day-—after what had to have been a very long day for a boy that age.
I loved his reaction.
What? You’re saying there are ‘limits’ on liberal hate speech? Never would have guessed that... So attacking an innocent 10 year old in off limits for liberals? Really, I’m amazed.
Ha!
Imagine.
One day the kid is studying for a science test and all of a sudden Dad is President.
It would be a lot to take in for anyone.
God bless him and his fam.
I feel so proud when I see them all together.
We have the best First Family, don’t we folks?
Utterly hypocritical on NBC’s part.
Liberal women hate children. Children escaped being nipped in the bud.
Children of a President should be off any criticism. I didn’t say a word about Obama’s kids and said they should’ve allowed to be kids. The children didn’t ask for Daddy to be President, so the media should leave them alone
The only pony in this dungheap is that we’ve finally found a SNL “comedy writer” less funny than Al Franken.
