The worksheet, assigned to seventh-graders at Highland Hills Middle School, presents a passage written by a fictional 20-year-old Saudi woman named Ahlima, who feels very fortunate to live under Sharia law in Saudi Arabia. She writes about how she will soon become a mans second wife and explains her modest dress: I understand that some foreigners see our dress as a way of keeping women from being equal, but I find Western womens clothing to be horribly immodest.
That document by itself, its almost propaganda, said Jon Baker, whose daughter also received the worksheet. If you read that, you would think everythings wonderful in that world.
Bill Briscoe, a spokesman for the district, said the curriculum is being reviewed in light of the complaints, per district policy.
The same worksheet, created by InspirEd Educators Inc., caused a controversy when it was used at a middle school in Smyrna, Ga., in 2011. Sharon Coletti, the creator of the worksheet and president of InspirEd Educators, said she received death threats and was accused of indoctrinating children at the time.
Coletti, who is a Christian and longtime educator, said in an interview with the Courier-Journal that she wasnt trying to indoctrinate anyone. She said she was just trying to create a lesson that was more engaging than dry, expository text pulled from a textbook.

That document by itself, its almost propaganda,
Not “almost”, sir.
That document by itself, its almost propaganda,

It’s not almost propaganda, it IS propaganda.
More “crappola” that the taxpayers, unfortunately, are paying for.
She didn’t want lessons to be dry. No problem. Why not just contrast women’s freedoms in various parts of the world. Just provide facts to the kids and let them draw their own conclusions.
It’s an mostly all males death cult that hates and kills all that are not them.
OUT with whoever had a hand in this “Christian” or not
We have one poster here, who I won’t name, that thinks the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is wonderful.
It is excellently described by the title of an excellent book by Dore Gold, “Hatred’s Kingdom”.
They are the exporters of the most virulent form of Islam, Wahhabi.
They fund mosques and madrassas all over the world to spread their hateful ideology.
Send ‘em a “document” by a woman promising herself as a second wife for Trump and see what happens.
I fully expect the customers of that school to demand - and GET - the resignation of the “teacher” and the principal.
Really.
Fill their lives with dread. Find out where they live.
Reading stories like this makes me admire adults who homeschool their children.
amazing or troubling that a Christian women is an “expert” on Sharia ?
Very fortunate for her that her husband can beat her whenever he wants and that she can’t go out in public alone. Can’t drive a car, and can’t get an education. If she’s raped, she will go to jail for it.
... and there are even more here who ignore Israel’s support for this abomination named Saudi Arabia.
Why would a Christian be interested in this kind of indoctrination? No Christian here.
Ping.
Jail? I thought women who were raped under Sharia were stoned to death?
Jailed or stoned to death by her own family & village if she is raped. And genitally mutilated so she won’t ever enjoy sex. Treated like a beast of burden by her father, brothers, husband.
Maybe under strict interpretation they’re stoned, but a lot of women in Saudi jails are there for getting raped, because they couldn’t find 4 male witnesses to testify on her behalf (for some reason).
One of the reasons Trump won is that such as this is now possible in America.
If they want to teach what Islam is like, there are thousands of videos on the web of Muslims murdering infidels, gays, women, and other Muslims.
