The forecast has become more certain that Friday is going to be cloudy, damp and cool for President-elect Donald Trumps inauguration ceremony and the subsequent parade. Given the crowds and tight security at the event, were recommending raincoats and ponchos instead of umbrellas even for the nonticketed areas.
If youre heading downtown Friday, expect temperatures to be in the 40s. The high looks like it will be in the upper 40s maybe 50 degrees on the nose but thats not going to feel warm with showers and gray, cloudy skies. Dress warmly with a waterproof outer layer, which has the added benefit of blocking the breeze.
The Secret Service is prohibiting umbrellas in the ticketed areas of the Mall. Even in the nonticketed areas, any other items determined to be potential safety hazards will be confiscated, which doesnt entirely rule out umbrellas. If youre going to take an umbrella, I suggest something small and cheap that, in the worst case, you wont regret handing over to authorities.

Such insolence!!
Himself just had surgery.
We’re not going anywhere for several days, and then, only short trips.
Sucks but it was necessary.
Yes, it may slow down some of the paid protestors. I can’t wait until it is over already so Donald can get to work. I am sure that is his wish, too.
Well, there’s a weak front moving across western Tennessee at this hour. The one thing I can say about weather forecasts these days is that they seem to be uncannily accurate. It confuses me because by the time it happens, it seems like it’s old news, since I’ve been hearing about it all week.
In this case, they’re just saying “dreary” in essence, so maybe a ray of sunshine is not too much to hope for.
My prayers are with you.
I am deeply grateful.
Rain helps Drain The Swamp.
But the body paint of the feminazi topless protesters might wash off.
Crummy weather won’t deter Trumpers, but it WILL deter snowflakes. Let the rain fall and the wind blow!
Awww. Think of their protest signs! 8>DDDDDDD
I predict one of the most stunning and brilliant rainbows will appear.
The Washington Post is saying rain for sure?
That may well mean we’re in for a record setting drought starting tomorrow.
If the WaPoo is ever accurate on anything, it’s only on accident.
A few weeks ago, they were forecasting the warmest inauguration day ever...
Please stop.
I’m about to collapse into a hopeless pool of sorrow and tears.
*not*
;D
The inauguration ceremony and the parade are outside. The parties are inside at night after it has stopped raining. At least you are not the one who commented that the radar looked just fine.
Folks, I think we should just call the whole thing off until the weather improves. Let’s wait for nicer weather. We survived Obama for eight years. What’s another day or so?
So it’s going to rain on the protesters parades? God is blessing America again.
It’s gonna rain. That’s fine. Keeps tempers down.
Are you kidding?? Trump would hold umbrellas for the Marines before he lets that happen.
If plans are changed....so be it.
WX = weather
