Its no huge secret that we dont hold Microsofts methods of selling products in high regard. Updategate was a complete shower, and with that over, we appear to have moved into the scaremongering phase of the operation based on comments from the companys German operation.
In a blog post on Technet, were warned that Windows 7 only has three years of updates left, and even then it cant hold a candle to Windows 10 in terms of enterprise features and security. Tell that to the 40+ percent of enterprises still using it. [ ]
Although it would be a foolhardy business that uses Windows Vista, it seems that Microsoft is keeping that rather important end-of-life (in three months) on the down-low as theyre not going to make as much money from it; and despite Windows XP having a near ten percent market share made up of some of the most vulnerable organizations like police and government, the Redmond machine is determined to go after the low-hanging fruit.

I like Windows 7. I’ve heard BAD thigns about Windows 10.
At least with Windows 7, I could get my monitor and computer to come back up after it’s in sleep mode?
With Windows 10, about half the time, I have to re-boot.
And I’ve updated all of my drivers.
Windows 7 is the only thing that has kept me with Microsoft. When it goes so do I.
I’ve already turned off all updates for Windows 7.
Obama ORDERED Microsoft to make Windows 10 a spy machine for the NSA. They were also ordered (with penalty of jail time) to keep this information from the public.
Just look at what happened to those private email businesses that were forced to shut down because they refused to abide with the Obama orders to reveal customer data.
The OBAMA government can also break into any Windows 10 machine, bypassing the password authentication. They cannot do this with Windows 7.
Just one reason to avoid Windoze 10 at all cost.
Windows 7 is my LAST up grade from microsoft.
When 7 is no longer safe I will go to Linux or OSX.
Microsoft has burned a bridge it built with 3.1.
One more reason I need to roll back to Win 7.
You have to turn off security update, too, or else they will render certain software unusable.
Then that leaves you vulnerable to malware.
Windows 7 is the only thing that has kept me with Microsoft. When it goes so do I.
Same here.
I like Windows 7 except it won’t let me play XP games without going outside to get it. I’m guessing 10 won’t play those games, either. Pretty much lost any respect for Windows to that fact alone.
Microsoft wants a ransomware business model.
pay or your data is hostage.
Our large company IT department will resist moving away from Windows 7 for a long time.
How do you burn or buy an official copy of Win7 or Win8??
Not a download link.
I’ll probably go the same route.
Hubby tried to up his Windows 7 to 10 when MS was all in a tizzy demanding everyone upgrade. It killed his computer. He now has Linux and swears Gates should have bought him a new computer.
I have never had a problem with Windows 7. Windows 10 was, is, and will be a very bad joke.
Windows 7 was my favorite. I intentionally bought a new laptop with 7 on it.
And when I wasn’t looking, somehow Microsoft forced 10 onto my machine.
I was hacked off.
I’ve used 10 for 6 mos now, and it’s okay.
I’m still amazed that Microsoft can’t come up with a browser that doesn’t shut down your computer when it hits a site with advertisements.
So, I use Brave. It’s pretty good and made by the guy that got kicked out of Mozilla(?) for donating to traditional marriage.
Same here. I’ll get a chromebook or something when 7 is over.
Is it out of Beta yet?
