As the debate continues over repeal of the Affordable Care Act and what might replace it, a growing share of Americans believe that the federal government has a responsibility to make sure all Americans have health care coverage, according to a new Pew Research Center survey.
...
The belief that the government has a responsibility to ensure health coverage has increased across many groups over the past year, but the rise has been particularly striking among lower- and middle-income Republicans.
Currently, 52% of Republicans with family incomes below $30,000 say the federal government has a responsibility to ensure health coverage for all, up from just 31% last year. There also has been a 20-percentage-point increase among Republicans with incomes of $30,000-$74,999 (34% now, 14% last year). But there has been no significant change among those with incomes of $75,000 or more (18% now, 16% then).
...
Among Republicans and Republican leaners, most of whom (67%) say the government does not have a responsibility for ensuring health coverage, there is very little support for the government not being involved in health care at all. Just 10% of Republicans favor no government involvement, while 56% say it should continue Medicare and Medicaid.
The GOP is turning back into the big government party it used to be in the Teddy Roosevelt days, with its own voters leading the way.
This terrifies me. The people against big government are becoming increasing farther and fewer inbetween.
Fake Pews
Obama the Usurper changed the facts on the ground, and that changed perspectives. It is President Trump’s job to lead, to change the facts on the ground, and to build support for freedom. If Trump doesn’t want to explain why, then he needs VP Pence or even Newt articulating why at every opportunity. We have to squash all support for government as Nanny, or freedom and America will die.
How many Tea Party protests do you think you will be seeing in four months from now?
“Its no wonder there aren’t any Tea Party protests anymore. “
You are the one posting Pew polls and then riding right along with their BS.
Maybe we should ask when did you start becoming a fan of leftist-sourced media?
“52% of Republicans with family incomes below $30,000 say the federal government has a responsibility to ensure health coverage for all”
Cherry-Picked Fake News.
used to be good insurance was a benefit from an employer. no job no good insurance
More lies and fake news.
Take Down Obama-care and Trash IT!!
That’s why TRUMP WON the Election.
Make it unaffordable for all, and even some across the aisle will begin to jump on the bandwagon.
I see what they did there.
Why would you believe these polls, when the voting public acts completely opposite? These are polls designed with the outcome in mind.
I do believe there should be a solution that decouples health insurance from employment.
I believe that was one of the main reasons companies started offshoring. They didn’t have to worry about paying for Sanjay in Mumbai’s health insurance.
The feds have NO LEGITIMATE CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT OR AUTHORITY to get involved and/or interfere with in health or health insurance. We either live in a dictatorship or we live in a Free Constitutional Republic. I’ll fight to the death for the latter.
And oh by the way, the best healthcare the world has ever seen was American healthcare, the envy of the world, run by the voluntary cooperation of buyers and sellers and patients and doctors in free market economy through the 60’s BEFORE the feds started interfering with their unconstitutional coercion and screwed it up.
The “replacement” for Obamacare, as with basically all things you buy, is the voluntary cooperation between buyers and sellers in the free market.
Polls are not news.
Polls are lies.
Just stop.
How many “support” 90% tax rates?
the best healthcare
a paradigm shift in our culture....
Same polls telling us OVER and OVER HELLARY would win the election!!! LOL!!!
The media and pundits, up and down the spectrum, crowned Hillary Clinton PRE-ELECTION with over 360 electoral votes, basing their predictions on these fake polls. Give me one reason why we should begin to trust these fake polls now?
