Donald Trump on Using Twitter as President: 'Bing Bing Bing' (secret account 280 character tweets)

A new Sunday Times interview between British Parliament member Michael Gove and our soon-to-be Supreme Leader Donald Trump offers much interesting insight into how Trump will use Twitter as president. When Gove asked about whether Trump would use the @POTUS handle, he offered up the following response:

@realDonaldTrump I think, I’ll keep it . . . so I’ve got 46 million people right now — that’s a lot, that’s really a lot — but 46 million — including Facebook, Twitter and ya know, Instagram, so when you think that you’re 46 million there, I’d rather just let that build up and just keep it @realDonaldTrump, it’s working — and the tweeting, I thought I’d do less of it, but I’m covered so dishonestly by the press — so dishonestly — that I can put out Twitter — and it’s not 140, it’s now 280 — I can go bing bing bing . . . and they put it on and as soon as I tweet it out — this morning on television, Fox — ‘Donald Trump, we have breaking news’. This word salad might leave one a bit stumped on our future president’s plan, but allow me to translate his points into something coherent:

“@realDonaldTrump I think, I’ll keep it.” Donald Trump will continue tweeting from his personal account as president.

“The tweeting, I thought I’d do less of it, but I’m covered so dishonestly by the press.” Trump would tweet less if the press was nicer to him.

“I can put out Twitter — and it’s not 140, it’s now 280 — I can go bing bing bing.” This could mean a variety of things:

I think the bing bing bing refers to this:

During the primaries....after several of the low percentage GOP candidates dropped out...

Trump would say..."There were 16....and I beat the brightest and the best of the GOP candidates....

Bang...bang...bang.....all defeated"

I'm loving watching the "mainstream" media being transformed from self-proclaimed gatekeepers of information to just one of many information sources, to be trusted or distrusted based upon their actual performance.

Long past time for their monopoly to end.

Twitter’s on pretty shaky financial ground. Trump’s popularity would be just the excuse Wall Street needs to put a bullet in it.

I like the idea of our new citizen President keeping his personal identity.

A continuing new paradigm, rendering the traditional media to essentially be a mere nuisance.

Would-to-God that's ALL they were...

They are the logistical supply line of propaganda ammunition to the useful idiots.

With us, it’s—what will make us a better country.
With them, it’s—”If you aren’t on our side, you’re the enemy.”

Quite profound. Your thought?

I remember seeing a quote, attributed to Donald Trump, saying his Twitter account was like owning a news paper but with out the loses!

Sorry I can't remember the source.

Usually when you see ‘warnings’ and ‘complaints’ about a Republican, it’s because he is BEING EFFECTIVE.

If you’re the media, how do you stop Trump from taking on, say William Clapper, when you don’t have a reporter to say something like “William Clapper, who was approved in a bipartisan vote 3 years ago, became the victim of president-elect Trump’s rage today, when the president said...”.

I remember something from 25 years ago, a relatively small issue, but it really GOT UNDER MY SKIN. It was when President Bush (Sr.) wanted a Capital Gains tax cut passed. Most economists, of all stripes, agreed that it was an easy thing to do to get the economy moving, and virtually revenue neutral, due to the increased investment it would bring. But to the Democrats that ran Congress it was a class-warfare issue, and Bush wasn’t going to get it, particularly in an election year.

But on CBS News, it was no longer just a “Capital Gains Tax Cut” (as in a sentence like “President Bush again pushed Congress to pass a Capital Gains Tax Cut”) - nope, Dan Rather renamed it to a “Capital Gains Tax Cut for the Wealthy”. He used THAT TERM (or maybe rich, rather than wealthy), and this young to-be Freeper was pissed and never forgot that. Obviously no one was asking to limit the tax cut to the wealthy, but since the Dems were fighting it from that angle, Dan Rather helped them out.

It was quick, it was subtle, but it was effective - Bush never got that tax cut, the economy didn’t grow (enough) or actually it did grow enough, but the media also hid that, and Bush was a one-term president.

Now if Trump wants his Capital Gains tax cut...guess what, Brian Williams doesn’t get to bracket the request with Democrat talking points.

That is why they are ANGRY AS HELL about Trump using Twitter...it is also why they keep going after Trump when he does use Twitter - their goal is to have his people feel so uncomfortable with Trump using Twitter, that they finally stop him. Not much chance of that happening...but what other choice do they have?

Yes, this is harsh, but Trump needs to find a way to get his comments scripted again.

E.g., we don’t really want him proposing a new nuclear deal with Russia in exchange for lifting the sanctions from their Crimea grab. And tweeting is fine, but he also needs some sort of informed editor to cut down on stuff like the response to John Lewis.

We are going to need less talking and more doing.

Trump will be viewed historically as a trend setting President for his use of the Internet to win a Presidential campaign, much as FDR is recognized for his groundbreaking use of radio and as JFK is recognized for his use of TV.

Obama has a twitter account. He was held in praise by the liberals for being “in touch” for using social media.

The fact is, the narcissist zero stopped using it so much once in office and his social media footprint faded.

“We are going to need less talking and more doing.”

Trump has already done more than the past two presidents while tweeting.

You’re an idiot for constantly denouncing how Trump runs things.

Seems you’re one of those trolls that try to spread FUD (fear, uncertainty, and doubt) about Trump however you can.

Gained 1 more yesterday, I’ve never had a need for twitter, email and txt worked just fine. But I want to know what Trump really says, not what FAKE news says he said. So I signed up and have Trump as my only follower.

You all are idiots if you think I, who have supported Trump for a year and a half, am a “concern troll”. This is however a grassroots site, which is a legitimate and important venue for giving the Trump admin feedback on where they are causing themselves problems and going off course.
