Can somebody explain it to me?
You’re not serious.
I thought it was a commercial for fly rods.
Surely I’m serious. I still do not know who Fenwick is and why couldn’t that other guy just rotate his shield to make it horizontal?
He gives away who Fenwick really is
THAT part is obvious, but the ending of the shield’s stripes directed towards a “Fenwick” and the sub audible groans, make no sense to me, neither.
I’ll take who is Mellicent Fenwick for 100 Alex.
I can’t read your question because it’s horizontal and I’m holding my phone vertical.
You should always hold your smartphone in a landscape (horizontal) position when taking video. I hate YouTube videos in portrait mode.
Fenwick is the guy to whom the man with the shield walks up to, thereby giving Fenwick away... and now Fenwick will be executed... WANNA GET AWAY???!!!

I have the same problem. My guess is that surprise has replaced humor. You know, like a baby’s very first belly laugh?
The quote I am Spartacus is dervied from the 1960 movie Spartacus directed by Stanley Kubrick and starring Kirk Douglas as the titular role. Near the end of the film, a Roman general announces to a group of former slaves that unsuccesfully fought againsts their rulers that unless Spartacus is turned over to them, all of the slaves will be crucified. Spartacus is then willing to turn himself in to protect his friends by standing up and proclaiming I am Spartacus!, but then the rest of the slaves show their loyalty to him by also proclaming that himself is Spartacus in great numbers. Since the general still doesnt know who the real Spartacus is, all of the slaves are led to crucifixion.
Except in this commercial the dunce with the shield gives him away.
The bad guy said he would let them all go if they give up Fenwick.
So they all said that “I am Fenwick”
The dope comes up and ask Fenwick to his face where his shield is/was.
Are you serious? They got the idea from this famous scene: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FKCmyiljKo0
Horizontal stripes on your shield make you look fat.

Do you want to get away? Fenwick probably does. He’s a warrior in an army and the opposing side has just asked him to identify himself. Many of his brothers in arms identify themselves as “Fenwick” in an attempt to save him, but then a man comes up looking for Fenwick’s help to find his shield. The shield he’s holding has two vertical stripes on it but his, he says, has horizontal stripes. He could’ve just rotated his shield, but now Fenwick is going to have a hard time of it.
