Leading MVP candidate Matt Ryan riddled Seattle's secondary for 338 yards and three touchdowns, leading the Atlanta Falcons to a convincing 36-20 victory over the Seahawks in the Divisional Round of the playoffs. Here's what we learned in Saturday's game:
After both teams traded clinical opening-drive touchdowns that spilled over to the second quarter, a holding penalty on special teamer Kevin Pierre-Louis swung the game in Atlanta's favor. Devin Hester's 80-yard punt return would have set the Seahawks up at the seven-yard line with a chance to take a commanding 17-7 lead. Instead, Seattle lost 84 yards of field position, ultimately leading to a safety when offensive tackle Ben Garland fell on a tripped Russell Wilson in the end zone. The Falcons quickly answered with a field goal and a 99-yard touchdown drive to close out the half.

The Seahawks were their own worst enemy this entire season. And that stupid, stupid penalty draw on that kickoff reception today was what started the Seahawks' very embarrassing nosedive. They never had an answer to the Falcons' offense. And their offense was stuck on stupid.
The Seahawks should hang their heads in shame after this stinker.

Atlanta showed excellence and class in victory. Seattle was as graceless in defeat as the ‘Rat Party.

Tall, (relatively) lean and mobile OLs are the wave of the future. Gone are the days of Aaron Gibson.
TEs are going to be very big for the next half dozen or so years. Nightmare matchups. Hopefully your team has a Zach Ertz, Delanie Walker, Tyler Eifert or Hunter Henry.

Some on the team were distracted by other things. Team lost unity.
