People Outraged Over A White Man Playing Michael Jackson

White actor Joseph Fiennes had been cast to play Michael Jackson in an episode of the cable show “Urban Myths,” reports USA Today.

Sky Arts, the U.K. broadcaster of the show, pulled the episode “Elizabeth, Michael & Marlon,” after the trailer for it drew criticism from Jackson’s family.

Paris Jackson, one of Jackson’s children, said the episode trailer offended her so much that she almost threw up.

“I’m so incredibly offended by it, as I’m sure plenty of people are as well, and it honestly makes me want to vomit,” she wrote.

Good God that guy was so incredibly effed up. A friend of mine knew somebody who worked for Jackson as a bodyguard, he said he had a plastic tip that he would glue to the end of his nose because he had a big hole in it from all the plastic surgery, and I can see it in that photo. If you seen other pics of him, he also use to tape the tip on. Like this pic....That's tape holding his nose tip on...

For some reason this thread brings to mind the 1970 Godfrey Cambridge movie The Watermelon Man. It was somewhat groundbreaking at the time. Still worth a watch IMO.

Taking offense at depicting someone being portrayed as a different race? I think I saw a new coin that has a black statue of liberty and weren’t the actors of Hamilton also flexible with their casting of actors with different races than the historical characters they were to portray?
