White actor Joseph Fiennes had been cast to play Michael Jackson in an episode of the cable show “Urban Myths,” reports USA Today.
Sky Arts, the U.K. broadcaster of the show, pulled the episode “Elizabeth, Michael & Marlon,” after the trailer for it drew criticism from Jackson’s family.
Paris Jackson, one of Jackson’s children, said the episode trailer offended her so much that she almost threw up.
“I’m so incredibly offended by it, as I’m sure plenty of people are as well, and it honestly makes me want to vomit,” she wrote.

I understand the outrage. He should be played by a white woman.
The actor is too dark to play Michael.
Someone (Tina Fey?) joked that Michael was born a poor black boy and died a rich white woman.
LOL.
So. I'm equally assured she was shocked and offended at Dorothy's portrayal by Diana Ross in the Wiz and by an equally black red-headed actress in the latest Annie? And, need I say a black "Hamilton?" Get off the cross, girl....somebody else needs the wood.
So they want a black to play the role of a black playing the role of a white?
Gee, I’m not so sure it’s so offensive. He married white women, made himself white noses over time, bleached his skin white and straightened his hair. Sounds like he was trying to be “white”? So what’s the big deal? sarc. Frankly, he was a very handsome man “as is”, as to why he went through the “freak” phase, who knows. His head was really messed up it seems. Peace.
Then I reserve the right to be outraged and protest every single super hero or any other traditional white role that is cast to some minority. Create your own fiction and lore.

Now his rich family due to him, don’t want a White Guy playing/acting like Michael.

After reading the headline, I was going to predict that the show would be pulled. But I see I'm too late.
This is yet another example of lefties criticizing - and shutting down - free expression.
Only in America can a poor black boy grow up to be a rich white woman.
Michael Jackson had a skin condition which affects less than 1% of the worldwide population called Vitiligo. This condition causes depigmentation of the skin in patches. To make this condition seem less apparent to the public he used makeup to try and even out his skin tone. So, what do you do? Take a black man and white his skin only showing the patches of black during the adding of makeup? Or do you take a white man and try to blacken his appearance? This is a no win situation for the role. The only thing would be to find a black actor and make him white. So does this really have to do with the role or the actor?
