One of NASAs satellites orbiting Mars has looked back home to record a Martians-eye view of the Earth and moon from 127 million miles (205 million kilometers) across the solar system.

We can easily explain the motions of the other heavenly objects if we assume a fixed earth and limit ourselves to their motion relative to us. But when you start trying to explain their motion relative to each other, if you asume a fixed earth it quickly becomes untenable. Copernicus debunked the earth-centric universe in the 16th century.
Actually, every point in the universe is the center of the universe.
Looks pretty dead. Excessive amounts of dihydrogen monoxide; nothing could live there. Let’s send our intrepid explorers elsewhere, Marvin.
Tangential thought:
Imagine a developing sentient species that originated & lives on the far side of the Moon.
As their spheroid rotates, they’d see the universe swirling by, and over time deduce that they revolve around the Sun. They may observe other planets, and work out the concept of a sun-centric solar system. This goes on for a very long time.
Then one day, an intrepid explorer takes an unusually long journey. As he (it?) travels, an incredibly bright & noisy (in the electromagnetic spectrum) orb rises over the horizon. Imagine the shock of discovering that your planetary body is in permanent orbit around a larger & populated body just light-minutes away ... and you’re the first of your sentient species to discover it.
“Has anyone ever considered that the universe orbits earth after all? I mean, whats the point of reference? Isnt that the pertinent fact?”
No.
” Why cant we consider the Earth fixed and all of creation orbiting our planet, more or less?”
Because orbits are explained in terms of gravity, the main influence on the Earth being the Sun, which it orbits. The entire solar system is in a much larger orbit around the center of the Milky Way galaxy.
I think you’re talking about theology or philosophy.
I’m talking about physics.
That’s what led to the war which wiped out the moon civilization. Not even the atmosphere survived.
So the tail CAN wag the dog.
But it would have to wag everything else too.
So am I life is the culmination of Physics and creation.
Ate you saying that planet Earth identifies as the center of the universe?
