A social media administrator at Yahoo Finance needs a copy editor badly.
The news site's Twitter account shared an inconspicuous news story Thursday evening about President-elect Donald Trump wanting to expand the U.S. navy but a misplaced "n" in the tweet's caption turned the whole thing on its head in a disastrous manner.

We should start a White House petition to name a navy warship “”USS Thug”. Actually, it wouldn’t be too bad a name, it has a certain “in your face” combative the quality to it.
Yahoo Finance in typo tweet: ‘Trump wants a much n——r navy’...
HA!
It wuz a completely “innis-cent” mistake.
Great idea. Too bad we don’t have any more battleships in commission as it would be a perfect name for such a slugging gunfighter. USS Thug. Unofficial Motto: Mugged by THE Thug.
Well .. actually, all Aircraft Carriers are named after former Presidents .. so the USS Trump will certainly be a great name for a commanding ship like a carrier.
yahoo is worse than the huffington post with news..no joke
Wow! SMH
NIMITZ is a whole class of CVN - don’t recall a President Chester Nimitz though.
It’s very funny and actually very believable that this was an accident. Look down at your keyboard and think about it; the key for letter ‘B’ is right next door to the key for letter ‘N’. Many is the time I’ve had a fatfinger problem and struck one key instead of what I wanted. It’s still funny, mostly because the very idea is outrageous to put in print and the grammar is terribly off kilter, even for American English.
Well, I never said President’s were exclusive for the naming of Carriers .. did I ..??????
And, I might as well add; it may be that President’s who have NOT SERVED in the military are not designated for carriers.
I’m not sure of the full rules regarding naming.
Oh Yeah, and when does San Diego get it’s “Reagan” Carrier back .. since Obama sent it to the northern part of the Pacific (Wash State - full of idiot liberals) .. and partly because Obama hated San Diego’s people.
No, all aircraft carriers are not named after Presidents. Historically, most have not been named after presidents.
I was on NIMITZ when we changed home port from Norfolk to Bremerton in 1987. I occasionally miss driving that 100kton marvel of engineering all over the world.
We used to call that ‘having egg on your face’.
Poor writer will never hear the end of it. Hope he’s a lib ;-)
The British are known for giving bold names to their warships.
I hope our country never names a warship after Obama, for too many obvious reasons to count.
