Found this very interesting on the Scientology Cult.
Leah Remini Scientology and the Aftermath | Season 1 Episode 1 | Disconnection
Bkmrk.
I just got into this show!
Episode 3 is quite powerful.
I’ve been watching as well. Very interesting.
Fascinating show. If you have HBO, check out a documentary entitled “Going Clear.” It’s a 2-hour film on the history and cultish behavior of this group. Creeeeepy people.
Regards,
PS: Creepiest of all? Hubbard himself.
I have been watching this show since it started. It makes me wonder how Scientology is even legal.
From what little I’ve read on Hubbard; he seemed to suffer
from flights of fancy. Some of our cousins got into that. It
was so far out that I was just surprised that intelligent
people can believe such outlandish tales.
Oh watch all the episodes. She does a very, very good job
The man was clinically insane...an alcoholic to boot
Aha! So I am not the only FReeper following this closely.
One can catch up on all the episodes prior to the new one this Tuesday. Check your A&E listings, as they binge them one after the other several times a week.
Am currently reading “Beyond Belief: My Secret Life Inside Scientology and My Harrowing Escape” written by Jenna Miscavige Hill, niece of David Miscavige (the man who took over the cult after Hubbard died) I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in the inner-workings of this cult.
Oh, you said it, Twinkie. That man was a nutnick of EPIC proportions. Hard to believe (for me, anyway) that Robert Heinlein was a close friend. Of course, Heinlein had his own issues...but still...
Regards,
Pres. Bill Clinton gave it IRS religious tax exemption.
Bmk
Excellent series.
We’ve been watching that series and I hope this will open a lot of eyes to this “cult”. She’s got guts and I wish her the best.......as an aside, I could really do without the “F” bombs being bandied about, which in my humble (and some might say prudish) opinion seem to take away from a very serious discussion about this dangerous organization.
I feel the same way......maybe that will change.
I noticed that too...the only thing I can attribute it to is that these folks were repressed and oppressed for so long that it is almost a compulsive release of some sort.
Kind of like a symptom of PTSD.
I am not a prude...but I find it a bit distracting. The “bleeps” are louder than the conversation, and we can see the word on their lips, so we KNOW what they are saying.
