My wife asked me what my favorite Christmas movie is. I answered Die Hard. She was not pleased. What is yours?
I bet you could pick out where scenes were filmed when you watch old westerns? I always loved it when we spotted the Alabama Hills.
We spent much of our summers on that side of the Sierras. I love it over there!
You should watch “Hell’s Heroes.” You’ll probably recognize many of the scenes out of Bodie. It’s obviously in your neck of the woods!

Nope. It is a common belief though.
The movie 'Holiday Inn' (1942) Bing Crosby, Fred Astaire introduced the song 'White Christmas'. Wherein as the movie 'White Christmas' (1954) Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, Rosemary Clooney was made due the popularity of the song.
Wishing all a Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year.
Yes, I am very familiar with were different scenes were filmed in the Alabama Hills and elsewhere in the Eastern Sierra. I can see my neighborhood in the background of the scene were the giant killer “worm” gets blown up in “Tremors.” Kind of funny.
I will definitely check out “Hell’s Heroes,” Bodie is one of my favorite spots too.

White Christmas for me too.
I like all the songs and happy scenes of people enjoying each other. We never watched “It’s a Wonderful Life “ in my home.
I have little relationship with it.
Miracle on 31st Street,we always watched together.
My favorite too.
We started with the VHS of the movie, then the DVD, and now the remastered Bluray: this print is gorgeous.
Our second favorite film is: A Christmas Story.
Christmas Vacation.
I have a favorite New Year’s Eve movie: The Hudsucker Proxy.
You know, for kids!
Scrooge - 1970
Absolutely my family’s number one favorite.
Did you know that Albert Finney was only 34 when he did that? He was 12 years younger than the guy that played his nephew?
Amazing bit of acting. Even with the deviances from the story by Dickens, it is an incredible movie.
We’ve become evangelists about it.
Have fun! :)
I had no idea! I never watched “Holiday Inn” because of that! Looks like I’ll get to watch a new old movie! :)
There is an Apollo 8 documentary I am particularly fond of. And the reason is that it was that year my dad asked what I wanted for Christmas and I wanted to see the launch so he took some time off and he drove me from Washington D.C. to the Cape and watched it from Patrick AFB and drove back in time for Christmas and to see the famous broadcast on T.V., I think about that trip every year. It was absolutely amazing.
