Photo and video evidence allegedly depicting rituals of the Fall 2014 and Fall 2015 pledge processes for the Sigma Pi fraternity at Hofstra University show pledging members were made to chug milk and vomit on one another, stay locked in a small cage and kneel blindfolded while their bodies were covered in hot sauce, among other hazing rituals performed at an off-campus residence.

I had plenty of friends still from High School when I was in college.
Told the fraternities to #### off.
We had a lot of ex-military so you really had to watch them. They had inventive ways to mess with people.
I walked in the house one time and there was a pregnant stripper. I don’t know what that was about.
Hateful little f’s. Bring them up on charges. (Real ones, not the Nifong kind.)
The Anti-semite imagery is over the top.
I doubt this is the norm. A certain amount of hazing is probably present in all fraternities, but this is extreme.
Frat brother mentality. No explaining it. Rather like prospecting for a motor cycle club or joining a gang
Don’t count on it.
When you give someone complete control over another all sorts of things go wrong.
He set the tone for my view of fraternities.

It kind of is legitimized college gangsterism, isn’t it?
“hazing” used to be a tradition of forcing your new recruits to undergo something embarassing that everyone went through in order to bring them together as a team. Everyone went through it, so you voluntarily did too- to let the team know you were worthy...
Now, idiots have made it into some bizarre torture scenario for some sick amusement. Anyone stupid enough to let themselves be subject to that is not worth having as a member. And the fraternity itself is being run by morons- so not worth joining.
I went to a Christian college that allowed one fraternity - a co-ed service organization that worked at homeless shelters, tutored English to immigrant kids, cleaned up garbage at local parks - stuff like that.
The Animal House stuff isn’t in my college experience.
And parents are throwing away a quarter million dineros trying to hang a degree on each of these little gangster rats? Better to toss the money in the East River and be done with it. The parents have already failed miserably. (Hofstra University - Alma mater of Bernard Madoff ).
Hateful or not, it’s free speech. It’s the least objectionable of everything they were doing.
