I've been fighting Chrome for four days and I'm done with it.
I operate W7 and I like it.
I've had trouble free Chrome for a couple of years, but it has frozen and crashed way too many times in the last four days.
Need Freeper input
i run firefox on linux, but some sites only work on chome so i just fired it up and it seems fine. i only use it intermittantly though.
There is a good browser out there called Brave. It was created by the guy that was fired from FireFox for his traditional marriage views (I think. Feel free to cross check this.)
Yep! The reason I stuck to good old Iron...Extra rust, but never crashes...
Explorer should not be used. Its like using a waffle house toilet. Microsoft Edge is far better. Its all new code. Its much safer. Its like a self-cleaning porta-potty. Or use Fire Fox. Chrome is the evil empire. (Microsoft is like the old tired evil empire). But Fire fox is pretty good. And they don’t want to take over the world.
“Windows 10 doesn’t bite.”
Butt it sucks.
Chrome is an abusive memory hog.

Ancestry crashes the latest Linux Firefox, since I use chrome for that.
Might be an add-on but I haven’t investigated.
No it doesn't. Don't upgrade to it, do a clean install. I have Chrome and Windows 10 and my computer works like NASA.
I am running Chrome right now. It works great, much better than Firefox, and it doesn’t have the memory leaks.
But I am on Ubuntu 16.04, maybe that’s the secret.
“So I use chrome . . .”
I’m suffering android’s auto correction.
On this Samsung Tab, the Chrome browser stops recognizing the touch screen keyboard if memory usage goes over 60%. It has a “Smart Manager” that let’s me clear it back to under 50% so I can type again.
I don’t have any trouble with Internet Explorer, and it’s been years since I last got a virus or a bug. I have several anti-virus programs, and they have kept the invaders out.
Symantec Endpoint, Spybot Search & Destroy, Spyware Blaster, and Zone Alarm, plus Malwarebytes in case I do need to remove something. They don’t seem to slow things down much, and they really do the job.
Chrome is slow as hell. Moved to Firefox and it was better. Then moved to Opera and it was even better.
Dump Chrome. It’s slow and it spies on you.
However, memory consumption in the latest version (55) is said to have improved considerably (by ~30%).
thx brother for the tip. yeah i try to limit my addons to the good security/blocker apps approved by my distro.
linux/firefox seems to be a good combo in general though. i’ve got a big shot globalist banking site that doesn’t seem to work with it. ergo, chrome. no shock i guess.
This is really odd. It’s happening to me, also. I thought it was just my own problem.
Try Opera. It works great here, but I should add that I am using an older version, just because I like the way it works and its speed. This version is 12.16 and it has been the default for over several years since it has worked so well. There are newer versions out there and I have tried them but this one has been so reliable that I always drifted back to it.
YMMV.
Have a little ACER Notebook and Win 10 has made it virtually useless. Don’t even think about browsing with Chrome..
For later.
Oh, and of course “Adblock Plus” and “Ghostery” are necessities as well to ward off all those bloody adverts and intrusions.
Cheers. :)
Merlot wine and sometimes a nice vodka tonic. What are you using? Oh, wait, operating system. I’m running System 7.
