Perhaps just the voting precincts that went Hillary should leave?
Are there any power plants in that area? food production areas? Will California print their own toilet paper money?

Businesses divest their biggest entity to raise money to rescue their other failing properties. In the same way, we tell California they are free to secede with America’s blessing but, oh, here’s our bill for the military bases, the national parks and air traffic control. Agree to pay this debt off in 10 years and we’ll consider you for trade partnership.

In the meantime, Oregon, Washington and Arizona get huge economic boosts by becoming larger Pacific ports and gateways to Hawaii and Asia.

The political benefits will be tremendous but so will the economic ones. California will become our dumping ground for all the illegals who want to flee Mexico and the weepy-hearted Calis can have their Sanctuary state with all the welfare benefits a Mexican could want.

Sports leagues would work out some agreement with California as we have with Canada.

Don’t be offended, Americans. See this as a business opportunity.

This would be a blessing, let them leave, that would be great for America, there is no way this state is ever going to be pro-America. California is all about destroying this country, I hope and pray this measure succeeds ...

Deport illegals and let them take any one who doesn’t want to be part of America.

Bye bye to millions of illegals and 55 blue electoral college votes. Yay! It will never happen though.

The Bay Area is already more foreign than a lot of overseas countries I've visited.

Not to defend the left wingers in control of California, the reality is California sends away more federal tax $’s than it receives.

https://wallethub.com/edu/states-most-least-dependent-on-the-federal-government/2700/#main-findings

Many red states receive a lot more federal tax $’s than they send to DC.

Such an effort is to the benefit of the entire US, but for reasons most do not realize.

The left in Sacramento and elsewhere will establish precedent and walk away from any moral authority to prevent the formation of the State of Jefferson.

The State of Jefferson is as conservative as any in the US, probably more so than Texas due to it’s ethnic and rural composition...nearly a Wyoming or Montana.

And that would add two more very conservative Senators in the Western (l)ibertarian tradition. It would also reduce the number of electors and House Reps in CA overall.

Would be so interesting to see how CA does retaining their water rights from the Colorado compact.

Hmmm.

This would be good for Utah, Nevada and Arizona water resources.

Jeff Davis and company fought a war to secede, which they lost. Are these candy-asses down for a war, let alone the possibility of losing one? Or do they think they can push the Union off with papers and ballots?

Sure they can Calexit but a few things need to happen:

1. They would have to pay about 2.5 trillion of the national debt as their share of having 40 million people out of approx 310 million people in the USA.

2. Now for their fair share of the Social Security and Medicare trust funds - they could be given credit based on the demographics of their documented citizens & permanent residents vs. the total number nationally.

3. The USA federal government owns certain properties in California that are very valuable. They should have to buy them at fair market and fairly compensate the USA.

4. Since they have no central bank (and they are the golden state) then we expect to be paid in gold. Here is a dollar coin. http://www.usacoinbook.com/item/1857-gold-1-type-3-au-55-150486 - and we need lots of dollars.

5. We may have to loan them some money and Janet Yellen can arrange for a good fully collateralized subprime rate.

6. Some rainfall that lands in California does end up in the Colorado River. However much of the precipitation that lands in the Colorado River does so within the USA. That’s our water :)

7. Since they are the ones deciding to leave then they are going to need to pay for their own wall and whatever border patrol & other customs/immigration expenses this causes.

8. There are other expenses, such as relocating our military (particularly Navy) and international sea commerce infrastructure to Portland/Seattle now that California will be on its own.

9. The total net worth of all real estate public/private in the USA can be enumerated within reason at fair market value. If California’s amount per-capita exceeds that of the rest of the USA then they will need to pay an equalization levy so we’re all on an equal footing in the split.

Good luck California!!

My deepest sympathies to our conservative FRiends in CA.

We aren't going anywhere. The California militia is armed and primed. Any attempt to subvert the U.S. Constitution by seceding will be met with warm resistance.
