Future First Lady Melania Trump and son Barron will not be moving to the White House after Donald Trump’s inauguration in January, The Post has learned. The president-elect’s 46-year-old wife and their 10-year-old son are staying put at the family’s glitzy Trump Tower penthouse so that Barron can continue attending his Upper West Side private school, sources told The Post. “Melania is extremely close to Barron, and they have become closer during the campaign,” said a source close to Trump’s transition team. “The campaign has been difficult for Barron, and she is really hoping to keep disruption to a minimum.”

Makes sense, especially for the rest of this school year. Trump supposedly has been dropping hints about how much time he’d be spending at the White House and this would explain why.
This is sad I want to see all of them in the White House.
Not to mention the sport teams he already is a member Weekends at White House. Grandparents in NYC with Barron if mom needs to be in DC

When Trump took on the job of President, Melania took on the job of First Lady (unpaid as it is). She should live in the White House, and so should he for that matter.
I heard White House is under renovation for an entire year 2017. So Trump can’t live there either

Trump’s term in office is going to be a real problem for the SS and an arrangement like this only makes it worse

I wondered about this. This woman is like us! She is not flashy or flaunting their money.
Not until his safety is assured. Trump seems to be a litte more street savvy than the lawyers that have inhabited the WH. I think he understands how serious it is but can't voice what he really thinks because of how incendiary (but truthful) it would be. After he clears the current administration out and has the place swept from top to bottom I bet they will move in.
I do not blame her.

Not just safety, though that’s paramount. DC is a cesspool. I wouldn’t expose kids to that filth, either.
Hooray for Melania, she is a good mother. I think she once said Barron had been homeschooled for some time also. It will be great to have a homeschool-friendly president for a change.
