Future First Lady Melania Trump and son Barron will not be moving to the White House after Donald Trump’s inauguration in January, The Post has learned. The president-elect’s 46-year-old wife and their 10-year-old son are staying put at the family’s glitzy Trump Tower penthouse so that Barron can continue attending his Upper West Side private school, sources told The Post. “Melania is extremely close to Barron, and they have become closer during the campaign,” said a source close to Trump’s transition team. “The campaign has been difficult for Barron, and she is really hoping to keep disruption to a minimum.”

Mom knows what’s best. At least he doesn’t have to go to that stupid Sidwell School.
I’ll not give any credence to such a report until I hear it from Trump. The media are doing all they can to create an aura of unreality and impermanence around the Trump Presidency. There being no First Lady in residence in the White House would just continue that theme.
Maybe the Trumps don’t like Friends of Sidwell.
That would be logical. Having moved a lot as a kid, a new school takes some adjustment.
Trump’s term in office is going to be a real problem for the SS and an arrangement like this only makes it worse
Melania makes Baron breakfast and takes him to school every morning. Picks him up and makes his lunch.....EVERY DAY. Baron has never had a nanny.
Melania is a loving, caring mother just like you and I.

the White House is a step down for them. Like moving into a single-wide trailer. Good for them.
I bet it’s more about safety issues. I wouldn’t live in the place either after the current adminstration. I would just assume that the place was rigged with a bomb or staff that might turn on you. These are very different times unlike America has ever experienced. Trump may be trying to keep his family from seeing someone attempt to assassinate him and the above. Trump could send his son to any school but probably wants him to be among his friends which is a big deal to you when you’re young.
Big whoop...Hillary and Bubba have been on separate trains for years...and they have security for life.
Makes sense. Ivanka can be First Lady. Keep the others away from the media.

Agreed. If FLOTUS wants do right by her son, (rather than doing inane #twitters and vacationing taxpayers money) then of course I support her decision.
There are many other fine private schools in the DC area Barron could have attended, but Sidwell has some inherent advantages starting with the security situation.
LOL! 5th avenue and Manhattan is going to be hell! I LOVE IT! I cannot STAND that city, it’s so freakin’ leftist it makes me puke.
The only ones it’s gonna be bad for are the retailers around Trump Tower.
I’m sure Donald will take full advantage of Trump Towers and it’s only a helicopter trip away from the actual White House. Trump doesn’t want to be bogged down and held like a captive in Washington... After all, with technology being as advanced as it is... The President can reside anywhere, any time. Access to the White House is limited and subject to too many security checks, etc. It really is more of a prison than a home and the Donald can afford the luxury of living where he likes.
