As someone who has grown up around artists and liberals my whole life: I want to say, Hamilton is an incredibly well-written, well-produced, true-to-history feat! The phenomenon is cause for hope that liberals and young generations of "minority" Americans will identify with our founders after years and years of being conditioned to view America as fundamentally a bad place and our founders as fundamentally hostile, racist people -- and not for the great, complex, robust characters they were!
Give it more time, and eventually more will eventually be drawn to conservatism, which ideally leads to embracing the Judeo-Christian principles and our Creator God which underpin them.
Regardless,
I think a basic rule of thumb is to not enter hostile, traditional enemy territory (in this case, Broadway/Hollywood) JUST after a battle while the blood is still wet on the ground from defeat so to speak. Hence why I think the timing for the VP-elect's attendance was not right.
Abraham Lincoln understood this! This is why Civil War reconstruction was such a disaster because he died before being able to oversee it. The North did not give the South enough time to sort of recover itself from the initial war itself! (A far more extreme example, yes, but the idea still applies!)
"Making America Great Again" will not just happen in a day and President-elect Trump did a great job in reaching out to groups of people considered traditionally opposed to the conservative message: African-Americans, et al. It's a start!
LMAO !
Artistic payback !!
Regardless of what you call the territory historically,
Jesus, the Son of Man, was Jewish. And no, I do not believe you have to be a Jewish actor to play him.
There are a lot of Christians in the arts who the LORD has called and a great many of them are persecuted as Mike Pence was, but with LOVE and ENDURANCE and the shrewdness of Spirit-driven diplomacy and spiritual warfare, the LOST in Hollywood and Broadway ARE being saved. I hope you are praying for them. That is about as far an intro I will give. The LORD bless you.
An ambassador for Christ. As Saint Paul calls for us to be.
“Be as harmless as doves and as shrewd as snakes.” - the nature of our diplomacy.

Not sure about quantum physics, but in horse racing, it is the Hambletonian.
My question was not regarding ‘Jewish’, it was regarding ‘Palestinian’. I find it a strange adjective to use.
It seems to me that the booing and disrespect that Mike Pence endured at Hamilton is actually a good example of the dove/snake tactics. He did nothing but attend the play, the actors showed who they were and what they believe. Pence came out the winner with anyone who thinks instead of feeeeels, and this disrespect is just another example of progressive intolerance of any belief but their own.
Sorry I am tired of pandering to them. They are whining about free speech, but my free speech was stolen from me for the last eight years. If I dare disagree, I am racists, so NO they have no right to think their free speech is more important than those on the right.
Too late. They have embarrassed themselves and ruined the chances of this production.
Huh? Now that seems a misplaced comment if ever there was one. It’s called LIFE.
All this dialogue to defend this idiotic childish boor, is a waste of time.
They are self centered, as ALL artists tend to be (I assure you, we don’t have to live in LA to be around artists and understand the nature of the beast), and this outburst was the extension of an ill mannered juvenile.
So carry on, I read your posts with amusement, still wondering who you are.
In that post I am basically saying a lot of liberals go through spiritual conflicts of heart too...and a production like this...whether you enjoy it or not...has challenged the lie that our founders were nothing but racist slaveowners with a bone to pick with a king. It rewrites the narrative to reflect the truth more closely: that our founders were great and complex people worthy of admiration, not disdain.
Steven Van Zandt’s take on the insult to Pence. I don’t agree with his politics but he’s right here:
“He was their guest. You protect your guests. Don’t embarrass them.”
I have typed so much in the forum that my original point may have been lost.
I agree with Van Zandt, but I am not surprised by what happened. Not excusing it, but that it is to be expected — and wouldn’t have gone precisely because of that. Mike Pence deserves better.
I just had to unfriend my nephew, a liberal actor, on Facebook . I had responded to a post he was tagged in from an “associate director” of a play he is in now, supporting what happened to Pence. The poster said something about enjoying Trump supporters peeing over what happened to Pence. I said I didn’t think the financial backers of their little play would support them alienating half their potential customers with their political views. My nephew responded that I had no idea how community theatre works and I should go away. ThAt friends of his were being accosted on the street because of Trump. I changed his diaper when he was a baby. I hate how liberal brainwashing is destroying family relationships.
Liberalism seems to bring out the worst in human nature while families struggle to bring out the best.
The audience booing was one thing...An actor giving a lecture on stage is appalling...
NO excuses for the actor and cast.
I sampled the soundtrack just now and I have to say it is awful. A modern version of Schoolhouse Rock. If this show had been cast with white actors, it would have closed after one night. But, I’ll hand it to the racist producers and cast, they came up with a good gimmick. They are way too full of themselves.
Telling that the “theater “ people think they have to have a minority cast singing rap songs to get history to “relate”. The vast majority of those they are “relating” to could never afford tickets to see the play.
But from a PR standpoint, I would have advised Pence to sit it out for now because it becomes fodder for the media! CASE and POINT!
sory, but you are spouting appeasement nonsense...a prominent conservative should grovel going to some theatrical bastardization of history, just because the actors and their sycophants in the audience are butthurt about losing a fair election...? what utter bilge...
but to play him would be odd because his struggle was directly tied to the racial struggle.
no, it would be odd because King was black and Pitt is white...just like it’s ‘odd’ that a black portrays a white man...you’re making less sense the more you post...
I changed his diaper when he was a baby.
who’s changing his diaper now...?
