How does one kill crazy ants in a do-it-yourself way? We've put down Boric Acid and flea spray, both of which kill them. But, they keep coming back by the thousands. Any ideas?

I fight the little guys every summer and after a long losing streak I have decided nuclear weapons is the only winning strategy.

There is a product the ants take back to the nest that kills them at the source, but I can’t remember the name of the product this minute. Something to look up.
Finding the nests, and killing them at that source is the best way to be rid of them now, and future. If not the product I can’t remember the name of is about the best alternative.
Maybe someone else will remember the product. Good luck.

My son worked on a method of dumping a can of kerosene on their nest and lighting it. That seemed to work pretty well.

Don’t know if it would work on those ants, but it worked on their relative, the yellow jacket... I poured a gallon of ammonia into their hole followed by a gallon of bleach and covered up the exit.

Try sprinkling Amdro around the perimeter of you house (The out side) If you do not have veg growing in the yard use malathion

Terro brand works incredibly well for me.....I think it is sugar syrup and borax....they drink it up like crazy and take the sugar/borax back to the nest. Takes a few weeks to see results...so be patient...worked for me

Assuming they’re not in your house, Napalm.

At least they will take care of the fire ants. At the cost of your electrical equipment and boxes.
Have you tried Fipronil? Illegal to use against ants in many places, but the only thing that might work.

Place the ant on any suitable anvil. . .
Hit it with a twenty pound sledge hammer.
Guaranteed to do the job.
Oh, you said "ants". . . Ok.
Place TWO ants on any suitable anvil. . .

Texas A & M university horticulture department would be a good source of information, or the county extension office.

I hope you weren’t anywhere near the area after he poured in the bleach. Clear ammonia and chlorine bleach together make chlorine gas, which can ruin your whole day.

Where do I get Terro. These are NOT fire ants. They’re crazy ants. No mound.
