HuffPo ^ | 11-9-2016 | Zach Carter

The Democratic Party exploded Tuesday night.

There will be months of finger-pointing and internal reprisals over exactly what Democrats should have done differently. But the shocking thoroughness of the defeat is plain.

I was listening to Fox News today on Sirius Radio and was blown away when the liberal talking head guest actually stated that she thought that the next leader of the DNC needs to be someone that is not a left wing liberal (Debbie Wasserman), just a middle of the road democrat. She said the extreme left wing views of past has not helped their cause and they lost many blue collar/Reagan democrats.

We need to go after these folks in the Red States. McCaskill should be vulnerable! I have alway wondered about Manchin and I see he was talking like being a swing vote for the Reps in a 50-50 Senate. We need to look real close at his record along with a few others.
I am not a Republican but the Democrat Party is evil. Look at what is happening since the election. They are still putting money in the streets and trying to even sway the Electoral Votes.
We also need to remember some of these Republicans. I held Kasich in high esteem and he sure let me down. He is nothing but a player, politician!
Lets awaken folks while we can still turn America back to Blue Collar workers who love our country!

Funny how all the defeated (Clintons, MSM) were wearing purple the next day. I know they meant it to symbolize unity, but it looks like deposed royalty to me.

a tight correlation between unemployment and racism ― the higher the unemployment rate, the more ubiquitous the discrimination.

Yet, according to the BLS, we are at near full employment -- 4.9% unemployment! Are they finally admitting that Fedzilla's methodology of calculating unemployment is pure BS and that Obama's "economic recovery" is a lie?

IMHO....it was a NWO team effect. Obie from Nairobi, in conjunction with Crooked Hillary (both disciples of Saul Alinsky), strived to bring this Great country to its utter destruction.

The 2018 map is terrible for Democrats ― five of their senators are up for re-election in Republican-dominated states, and four more in swing states.

HuffPost is aware if the next election's dynamics. If we handle these two years correctly, it could be glorious.

NONE of the media will admit why The Beast lost. Simple: America (at least those of us who watched, listened, and understood what was actually going on with Obama and Clinton) couldn’t stand the thought of it continuing. Total corruption is no way to run a country. The Beast is totally corrupt and we all know it and we came out in force to make sure she would never rule this country. Plain and simple.

Trump will be like a breath of fresh air after the last eight years of misery he has inflicted upon our beloved United States of America.

Reading the comments, they still don't get it.

No, they do not. They're so stuck on identity politics that they can't even see the coalition that opposed them.

Optimistic Democrats have long believed the voter coalition behind Obama ― young people, brown people, lower-income people and a sprinkling of white professionals ― was a stable and growing majority that could always put Democrats over the top.

Didn't the Democrat base once include a rather large slice of white working class folks? Sort of missing in that equation, aren't they? The Party Of The Little Guy seemed preoccupied with kicking that poor schmuck to the curb and blaming him for the lack of racial and economic comity in the entire society. That's not going to win a lot of votes, and taking them for granted is far worse.

Many are interpreting Trump’s election as a white supremacist backlash against the first black president and misogynist fear of a first woman president. After Trump’s vile campaign, it is impossible to conclude these were not significant factors.

"Many" are fools. If there's a single sliver of Trump's coalition that may be remotely described as "white supremacist" I'll eat my MAGA hat. But there's a clue there. Use that phrase of hatred on those who aren't, and they're not too likely to vote for your side. Who did Hillary say she was going to have to "talk to" in order to establish better racial relationships? White people, of course. That single phrase caused a lot of eyebrows to raise and she never had a single clue. Nor could one credibly call anyone who voted for Sarah Palin "misogynist". That smear is past its expiration date.

Not a clue is right, not a clue that what killed Hillary's campaign was Hillary - remote, disengaged, disinterested, and blatantly, thoroughly corrupt. Trump was running three rallies a day when she was drinking scotch with heavy donors at private parties. She is known to be cheap, foul-tempered, ugly in speech and thought, dismissive of ordinary voters, and unbelievably entitled. How far she got is testimony to how powerful the Democrat political machine is, and in order for it to remain that way she had to win, and she didn't even try.

Even Stevie Wonder could see that one of the parties was going to implode after this landmark election.

Better them than us.

The fun part is she CHOSE Bernie to be a “sparring partner” so she could be said to have “won” a primary. The SOB beat her but for the fraud. That should have been a clue but, no, the delusion was strong. To make it worse, they encouraged the BSM to elevate Trump because they thought he would be easiest to beat. They deserve every tear. Hubris only secondary to massive delusion.

Most Americans are not familiar with the labor participation rate as it applied in calculating unemployment and how the methodology of the equation has changed under Obama. Trump should have a surrogate explain it.

The Democrats did try the strategy of pretending to move to the center after the Reagan landslide in 1984 by forming the Democratic Leadership Council which gave us Bill Clinton and Al Gore. Also, the Dims won control of Congress in 2006 by running "Blue Dog Democrats", Democrats who once again pretended to be moderate. So it is a winning strategy for the Dems to move to the center.

The problem for the Democrats there are very few if any moderates left in the Democratic party leadership apparatus. I can't think of any and the rank and file of the Democratic party is so shrill and immature I don't think they would accept anyone who is half way sane.
