If you want to watch random videos, go to Youtube.
FR would be improved if these vanity posts of off-topic links would be stopped.

Weird - I was thinking about that song yesterday.

This is one of the best “one-hit wonder” songs of the 1980 (or any other decade) IMO.

FR would be improved if these vanity posts of off-topic links would be stopped.
The topic it was filed under is "Music/Entertainment".
These off-beat postings gives FR some of itsfalvor. On other conservative websites you migth be able to find 100% cold straight news and think pieces . . . with a generous helping of pop-ups and cookies on the side. I'll take FR!

Remember asking out a girl in the 80’s, named Jennifer, and she did have an 867 telephone number...

They are in the main Forum thread. By a single individual. Are in effect vanity posts. And are outside the topic boundaries of FR. imo.
Again, if one wants to watch music videos, go to Youtube.

On those occasions when I type such, it may mean that my brain clot is acting up, my fat fingers can't get the iPod Touch to cooperate, or my supervisor is walking by.

I play in a classic rock band. Our following ranges from 35-70 years old. They all still love to dance to this one.

I know of a woman who lived about three blocks from us at the time this was a hit. She was hounded day and night with calls.
It was my understanding that she, and presumably others like her, were responsible for the non-functional (555) area code being designated for entertainment media us.

Try (505)867-5309. It’s a number in my hometown of Bernalillo NM. I was a junior in HS when this song came out. We abused this poor guy!

867-5309 was a local in my city in 1981. I recall seeing a newspaper story about the people who had the number needing to get it changed quickly.
