I’ve seen very little about TWD that is not predictable. There are flashes now and then — I didn’t expect Rick’s wife to die or Herschel or Glenn — but a lot of it is not just predictable, it’s cliche.

Very interesting thought you have. To be a ‘king’, you must do, at times, bad things (in order to keep being the ‘king’).
You might be onto something there.....Oh yeah, you see this alot in old cowboy moives. Where the killer of the kid’s family adopts the kid.
Very interesting indeed.

IronJack, regardless of our personal opinions, I know that you will respect my right to disagree. As I will do for you.
Cheers. Redshawk.

PS. I still think that this year will be most unpredictable.

Not worth fighting over a TV show. Cheers.

Of course that’s actually what they did. You didn’t see most of the hits, just heard them, they were either in reaction shots, or angled so you just saw Negan’s head. The funny part about that is that showing less actually makes the viewer see more. When you just suggest stuff the brain of the viewer inserts the details, and the brain of the viewer is usually way more brutal than any director. Really compared to things like the Terminus assault or the Governor beheading Hershel there was actually significantly less gore, but they spent a lot more time contemplating it. Usually they do something brutal and move on, since last week was all about breaking Rick they lingered over it.

She’s one of my fav characters. I didn’t read the comics until recently and I wish they weren’t following them as much as they are but I’m glad Carol is still around.

I like Rick so I don’t get the hate for him on some message boards.

I like both Carol and Rick as well, and agree with you and southern rock this show shouldn't be following the comics. I'll go one step further and say the comics, at this point, are bringing the whole story down. The comic stuff isn't working on a tv show where people are more invested in the characters so it's not as easy to get rid of them. And I hate knowing in advance. King Ezekiel and a tiger may work in a comic, but seemed entirely unbelievable in the show. And the fact they don't use the word “zombie” because the comic didn't has always bothered me. They are zombies and we're suppose to relate to the show as if it happened to us!

My reading of King E is that he is keeping his powder dry, until circumstances are improved to the point that open conflict/war will be successful and Negan defeated.

I do believe that the pigs fed on the walkers is a signal of that resistance - whether it is a hope that it will harm the saviors, or simply the reaction of an unwilling servant to a rude and cruel master, by spitting in the pie while making dessert-I sort of thought that was what the producers were trying to communicate.

I also got the impression, that far from a subservient village, the village would be quite ready fight back, if they knew about it, and King E will be glad to oblige, when circumstances are right-till then only those he chooses will be allowed to know.

As far as King E’s style of leadership, My reaction is quite similar to Carol’s, after Morgan wheeled her out in the hall way. You have got to be Shi##@*g me. LOL

We are in agreement. King E is waiting till the time is right, and I do believe that additional forces are one of the things he wants.

No we don’t know, but it’s worth a try. Remember how upset the wolves were when they found out that Bob was infected?

Of course, it could just be like the servant’s spitting in the dessert while making the pie sort of thing.

They could have lingered without showing Glen’s eyeball. Like I said, the gore they show adds nothing to the story for me, and I usually just get up and leave, or fast forward, if I’ve got it on DVR.

I don’t do Horror or slasher films for the same reason along with the fact that the plot is slim to none and utterly predictable.

They are zombies and we're suppose to relate to the show as if it happened to us!

That was explained many seasons ago.

"Robert Kirkman reveals why zombies don't actually exist on "Walking Dead"

"So, why are the living dead referred to as "walkers" instead of zombies on "The Walking Dead"?"

One of the pleasures of watching AMC's new "Walking Dead" aftershow — "Talking Dead" — is the chance for fans to get answers to questions like that one. "Walking Dead" comics creator and TV series producer Robert Kirkman answered it on Sunday.

In the world of "The Walking Dead," he said, the concept of zombies doesn't exist.

"One of the things about this world is that people don't know how to shoot people in the head at first, and they're not familiar with zombies, per se," Kirkman said on "Talking Dead."

"This isn't a world the (George) Romero movies exist in, for instance … because we don't want to portray it that way, we felt like having them be saying 'zombie' all the time would harken back to all of the zombie films which we, in the real world, know about.

"So by calling them something different, we're kind of giving a nod to … these people don't understand the situation. They've never seen this in pop culture, this is a completely new thing for them."

“The novelty of the zombies has worn off. “

The novelty of stupidity has worn off. These are supposed to be seasoned veterans of the zombie apocalypse and they make one stupid mistake after another. No thanks. I can watch stupid people in real life.

Glen’s eye is actually straight out of the comics. And honestly compared to Rick tearing out that guy’s throat is pretty mild.

All interesting. But something seems incongruous. The
kind of skepticism as shown by Carol should be the rule
rather than the exception as far as most folks go this
deep into the apocalypse. The weak minded should be
zombies or dead-dead by now. I need to see Ezekiel do some
king stuff soon or I won’t buy into the character. More
info.....did he lead a war against another tribe? Did
he save hundreds of people? Should it be King Negan
instead? What I am saying is I can see how Negan has
amassed his power, through violence, intimidation. I
want to see how Ezekiel has gotten what power he has.

What I don’t want to see, again, is Rick Grimes back
cowering in his shell unless he is doing it for
show. We’ve seen Grimes butt hurt, brooding, and
sell pitying. We have seen that already. I want to
see sneaky, conniving, vengeful, recon Rick even
if he puts on the pacifist act for all but a few.

Interesting viewing ahead.

My thoughts exactly. By now they should be well into a survivalist/reconstruction situation. If they’re moving in semi-real time.

Unlike “The Strain,” where they’ve just ended their third season and it’s only about 40 days into the Vampire Apocalypse.

I know it was explained. And it makes no sense. And I think they only did it because that's the way it was done in the comics. My whole point was that some things in the comics don't play well on a tv show that we are suppose to be able to relate to, this series wasn't only made for comic lovers. One of those things is pretending the word zombie doesn't exist.

I didn’t like the tearing out of the throat either. As I said, seeing the gore adds nothing to the program for me.

I don’t read the comics, but I’d think that variation now and then is a good thing, as they have apparently done that before. I didn’t like that they killed Glen so soon after his miraculous escape from death last season, but whatever will be will be.

I just didn’t want to see it. Had I known it was coming, I just would not have looked. I don’t have to actually see that crap up close and clear. That’s my preference. People differ on stuff like this, and that’s fine too.
